Seeking Pediatrician in Akron Oh

I am a first time mom with a 6 month old. While I love my pediatrician, the staff at his office are another story. It's close to impossible to actually talk to the docter. And for minor questions they make me feel like I'm wasting their time. I've discussed this with him but I don't think it's going to change. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So What Happened?

Thanks to everyone for their recommendations. I had decided to give my ped. 1 more chance. At the last visit I spoke to him AGAIN about my concerns. It ended up with him being very short with me and not really even giving any attention to my son. I called a few doctors afterwards and it seems that most want babies at newborn age if they are new patients. I finally tried one that my cousin takes her kids to. Today was our first visit. And it was great. He ansered all my questions and even diagnosed his wheezing.[I had been told I was over reacting by my last doctor] Thanks again everyone for your help

Hi S.. I had the same problem. I used to go to a dr. at CFCH and I never saw the dr. just a bunch of interns. Now I go to the Childrens Hospital branch in green. They are awesome. The dr's are all part of childrens and they are so knowledgable. There aren't interns there so you always see only your dr. They spend at least 20 minutes with us every time we are there and answer any questions we have and their exams are very thorough. Hope that helps.

We use Pediatrics of Akron. It is a multiple doctor practice. We have primary doctor - which we use for scheduled appointments, and a designated back-up - which in the case of an "emergency" (i.e. unplanned illness)gives us another doctor in the practice that would be familar with our child.
During office hours, there is a designated help line handled by nurses (think they are all nurse prac.) They have been great resources, fielding my questions and/or referring them to our child's docs who will call back to discus the issue.

I take my girls to Childrens Hospital Physicians Associates. I go to the office in Green, but there are a few different offices in the Akron area. I've been very happy with them over the past 7 years. We see Dr. Valeri Hood, and she is wonderful. There are several doctors in the practice, though, and they all seem to be great with kids.

We use Dr. Jeffrey Kline in Cuyahoga falls - ###-###-####. He is excellent and we usually don't have too many problems with his staff. They are very helpful at times.

Dr. Heidi Khalil is an amazing pediatrician. She is with a group in Medina. Heidi is such a warm and wonderful person, and she takes care of the child patient as well as the mom. If you are a first time mom looking to get your new mom questions answered, I think Heidi is who you are looking for!
