Fun Ways to Tell DH I'm Pregnant

Just found out this morning that I'm pregnant. (YAYYAYAYA!!!) I'm looking for fun ways to tell my husband. This will be our second. We have a son that 2 1/2 now and with the last one I was too excited to keep it secret long enough to think of something clever...so as soon as he walked in the door getting home from work I gave it away.

I was thinking of picking up a plain white t-shirt for my son and painting something on it about being a big brother, then when my husband gets home, he find out from our son. Problem is I can't get to the store today, and I probably won't get a chance to get the shirt until tomorrow evening, then I'm not sure when I would have a chance to paint it without him knowing about it...so it seems like this might not work...

how did you tell your husbands?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

tonight I got out of the house for a litle "christmas shopping" and I got all the supplies to paint the shirt for tomorrow. So when he gets home from work, I'll casually mention that he should look at the craft project we worked on. I got camo color fabic paint and have Justin use his hands and a sponge to paint the shirt...let that dry for a few hours, then I got fabric spray paint (with a stencil) to paint on the front...I got a lil secret...and on the back...I'm gonna be a Big Brother. Thanks so much for the ideas and encouragement.

I sent balloons that said Congratulations to work and the card attached said, "You are going to be a daddy"

My husband was with me when I was checking each time. =) Maybe you can write it on a paper, "Congratulations Daddy!" or something like that, have your son color on it, fold it in half and have your son give your husband the picture he made for him.

The first time I came running back into bed wit the pee stick in hand and tackled him - we were trying so he knew before I even hit the bedroom what was up
This time (Im 29 weeks) I left the pee stick on the counter for him to see when he went in for his morning pee pee and when he came out of the bathroom I had this huge smile on my face
Good Luck and Congrats on the new baby

#1: I was in such shock, I just came out of the bathroom and showed him the box and then showed him the stick. Then cried for 30 minutes.

#2: I was in such shock, after our son told me I was pregnant, I took a test and came out and my DH asked, "Is he right?" My reply, "It looks the way."

#3: I was in such shock (why am I always shocked???) that I had to go outside for more oxygen....since there was not enough in the house. I couldn't breathe. I finally went upstairs, got on the computer, made a quick www.babyjellybeans.com site and put a picture of a bun in an oven and left it on his desktop. The monitor finally went black when it timed out. He went to get on his computer, saw the site and was confused. He went downstairs to find me and thought I was in the bathroom, so when he went in there, he found the positive test. Any confusion was quickly cleared up. He then found me back in the kitchen starring out of the kitchen window. He hugged me and told me congratulations.

#4: Yep, still a little shocking, since I got pregnant the day after my period ended! We were on the fence about #4...a VERY LARGE FENCE. LOL Anyway, I bought him a shirt and put it in the laundry for him to help me fold. His response was priceless....and he wears the shirt with pride. We bought it somewhere else, but this is the idea:

Congrats and have fun!

last night on Tori and Dean the reality show she wrapped up her EPT test in a watch gift box. Dean unwrapped it, opened it and his reaction was priceless! I thought that was such a good idea.

Could you wait until Christmas (I know I would be too excited, but some people have better self control than I do)? It would be really sweet to have one of his Christmas presents be something telling him the news. Maybe a card with a poem in it:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
We have one beautiful baby
Soon we'll have two

Or maybe on the bottom of his Christmas card put 'P.S I'm pregnant'. Lol.

Or put up 4 Christmas stockings instead of 3, and then when he asks who the 4th one is for... ;)

can you make baby peas and/or baby-themed other food for dinner? "Oh btw - how do you like these baby peas? Oh and we're having a baby!"

Can you teach your son the phrase "big brother" by the end of the day, then bring that into the conversation at dinner tonight?

Kohls, if you can make it, has a Big Brother shirt I think.

Could you stick the pee stick (in a bag of course) under the sheets, so when your husband goes to bed, he goes "Uggh, what's this hard thing under the sheet?" He'll put his hand under there to grab it out and find out your little secret.

Send him a photo of your now flat tummy. Maybe say "notice anything?" or just a simple "Guess what .....?"

(If you can't tell - I just have one, and have thought and thought about what I'll do if/when we ever get pregnant with number 2. Good luck! And congrats!)

Think of a way to talk about charades. Tell him you've got a corny saying to act out. Make him play along. Act out "I've got a bun in the oven". And wait until it hits him.

Congratulations!!!!
