Luck with Putting Yourself into Labor?

ok, need to have this baby before my doc leaves town for a conference next week. He is solo in his practice and the only one in my county that even entertains the idea of a VBAC (which I am determined to have), so he is it. I am 39 weeks along, so it shouldn't be too long now, I would just prefer it happen 'naturally' prior to his departure next week. This is my 5th (1st 3 were easy vaginal, last one was c-section due to a complete placenta previa) and with a vbac, inducing is not favorable. any ideas or things that have worked for you?...

Guilt over Son's Premature Birth

Hi ladies, I'm new to this site and in need of an honest opinion about my son's birth. My son was born a few months ago and he was born at 31 weeks and I feel like it was all my fault. When I was about 28 weeks along I went to the bathroom and when I stood up I felt a drip go down my leg. I called my OB and they were booked that day (it was about 3pm) and told me to go to a local hospital OB triage. During that visit they did a "dry specimen" where they cannot use any lubricant and they put the speculum inside and swabbed my uterus...

Breastfeeding & Lactation

I'm very frustrated with breastfeeding. I never had issues with any of the boys; however, I remember supplementing with them. For whatever reason (maybe because she is the last), I feel the need to strictly breastfeed. I do have to pump most of the day because since the boys started school we are on the fly most of the time. My biggest problem is that by the evening, when I do have time to sit and enjoy my time with her, I don't have much milk. She is latched on to one side, and then the next, and then back to the first one, and then...

Is It Just Me?

Ok, I feel a little ridiculous with this question, but it's really bothering me so I hope someone out there can give me some insight as to what's going on with my body. (So you know, I do have an appointment with my OBGYN on Wednesday) I have been having a lot of weird, small symptoms lately and I'm not sure what to make of them. I will list them for you (in no particular order): frequent urination, foul smelling urine, tired, nausea and a little shaky before lunch (feeling as though I NEED to eat), gassy, looser stool, and what seems to...

What Hourly Rate to Pay for 13 Year Old?

My 13 year old daughter gets a $13 per week allowance, which $10 she can spend, $3 she saves. She has to keep her shoes put away, coat hung up kind of stuff to earn her allowance. Not that much "extra" work at all. She loves to shop, and wants more money. So I will pay her for extra jobs around the house, like vacuuming, yard work etc. We are trying to come up with a fair hourly rate. I think $4 -5 per hour is fair. What do any of you pay for extra work? What would be a fair rate per hour?
