Aquaphor & Mylanta for Diaper Rash????

I read in either Parents or Babytalk that you can use a mixture of Eucerin Aquaphor and Mylanta on diaper rash and that it works great. Has anyone ever tried this? I'm about at my wits end with a never ending diaper rash on my daughter. It will go away for a day or two and then comes right back.

14-Month-old Is Constipated

My 14-month-old son is constipated a few times a week. I have been in contact a few times with the pediatrician's office and am doing everything I can. This started when he was switched over from formula to whole milk. Also, he does not drink much water. I am always forcing it on him, but he won't drink much. I give him prunes or blueberries to eat, make his baby cereal with prune juice, give him whole grain foods, etc. I also water down his milk and occasionally put Karo syrup in his milk. He still has problems with constipation. ...

Raw Red Under Toddler Constantly Stuffy Nose

Hi All, My 2 yr old has suffered from terrible congestion all winter. (He apparently has sleep apnea as well...). In any event, despite my placing aquaphor as much as possible, he has developed some rednessness and pimply stuff below his nose. Besides keeping it moist...any insight ideas? Thanks as usual for your advice. Jilly

Nasal Congestion and Red Cheeks

My 5 year old has nasal congestion frequently and at times it can turn into an infection that requires an antibiotic. Sometimes when she gets nasal congestion, her cheeks get red. We thought she may be having an allergic reaction to something. The pediatrician recently sent my daughter to have blood drawn for allergy testing. All tests (trees, animals, nuts, shellfish, etc.) came back negative, but she keeps getting nasal congestion and red cheeks. Has anyone experienced this or know what might cause it when allergy testing is negative?

Baby Thermometers and Checking for Fever?

Can anyone recommend a specific thermometer that they like for babies? Is there a difference between thermometers marketed for babies and those for adults? Is there a range in quality, or will any digital thermometer do? Also, I have been taking my son's temperature under his arm when checking for a fever, but it always seems low--lower than regular body temperature. Should I be checking a different way? Any advice on how best to tell if baby has a fever? What temperature constitutes something to worry about? Thank you!
