What to Do with Toys, Clothing and Baby Gear?

For those that are done having children, I was wondering what do you do with all the baby gear you no longer use, pack n plays, saucers, and the baby clothes, and toys your children outgrow that are in good condition? Do most of you have a yard sale? Sell them to second hand stores? I have heard you dont get that much from them though, or do you just give them away or sell them privately? Using the online sites to sell seems like such a hassle to me. How do you get rid of everything, yet make a few dollars?

Safe Arts & Crafts for Babies

Looking for fun, safe arts & crafts ideas for our 8 month old. Just a little something to start tapping into her artistic side. Everything she plays with goes in her mouth. I've seen non toxic finger paints in stores but of course they're not going to say it's edible. Any creative ideas? One friend suggested crayons as the least harmful? Pudding? Or just good old finger paints under close supervision? Thanks!

Repainting a Scooter

I thinking about getting my 5 yr old boy a 2 wheel scooter like the razor or something for Christmas this year. He currently has a Red Lightning McQueen 3 wheel scooter that his 3 yr old sister likes to ride around. I was thinking that if I got him one I could repaint his pink/purple or something girly and re gift it to his sister. But I've never repainted anything. Is it worth it to repaint, is it even possible? Your thoughts....

Baby Carrier, Sling or Ergo?

I have a very active 2.5 year old son and am expecting baby #2 in mid-October. I'm thinking that I will need and make good use of a baby carrier, sling or Ergo carrier. Can anyone give me their feedback with which type(s) of gear they used: did you prefer a carrier vs. sling, for example? Any advice on what types to look for or what to avoid?

What Was Your Major or Career?

I am 3 classes from getting my associates degree in general studies. Then, I will have to declare a major when I apply to a university. I know what I don't want to do (I am horrible at anything math related), but have no clue what I do want to do. I will get career counseling and take a personality test (myers briggs) to help me narrow it down. But I wanted to know *real world* experiences in the job field and if it relates to your major at all to give me some ideas, because I am stumped. So, if you feel like sharing. What did you major...

Ipod but No Cell Phone? Worth It?

My husband and I do not have a cell phone, we don't have cable, and we don't have any gaming system. We have wireless internet and a desktop computer. We do not want cell phones or cable. We've considered a gaming system in a couple of years. I have been looking at getting an Ipod Touch 4G lately. My husband doesn't think I will use it enough to warrant the cost. Does anyone else out there have one that doesn't have any other gadgets? That feels it was worth it? How do you use it?

Custom Crib Bedding

Hi everyone! I am looking for unique crib bedding for our new baby girl that is on the way. Does anyone know someone that makes custom bedding? I found some material I love, I just need someone to make it for me. If you know of a website that has a great selection of fabrics for custom crib bedding I would be interested in that too. Thanks so much!

Beauty Products Made with Natural Ingredients

I don`t understand why it is better to use beauty products that are mostly or all-natural (in other words, why have some ingredients like mineral oil or petroleum have been taken out?). Why is it better to have/use natural ingredients in things like lip balms or body lotions? If anyone can tell me any website(s) to help me out with understanding this, I`d greatly appreciate it.

I am completely inundated with small toys. I have so many little bits and parts of sets, but it feels like I don't have any complete sets. Where they go, I have no idea.
