I recently purchased a Wii Fit Plus and wanted feedback from those of you who have and/or are using it. Pros/Cons, has it worked for you (loosing weight), what have you found to be the best workout for dropping that kangaroo pouch....etc, etc. I'm 5' 8" and 152 lbs...just looking to get back to 145 (my weight before the kids)...

What can I do next?

I personally love it! Not only can I work out, but both of my kids do the routine with me or cheer me one. Between laughing with my kids and actually doing the stuff, I work up a sweat! My kids are 4 and 2.5 years. They both have gotten on the board and tried things. I think it's a fun way to excersise and not realize you are getting a work out. I did the rythem boxing and the next day I had a hard time picking up my 2.5 year old because my arms were so sore!! I don't do it enough to lose weight but would like to start...I just need to get into a set routine. Good luck with it and have fun!!!

Oh and I love setting up my own routine as well as letting the WII pick one for me!

I love the Wii Fit Plus! I haven't been using it to lose weight, but just started last week trying to prepare for snow skiing (trip is next month). I've been doing several of the strength training exercises and I can really feel that it's working. I do still have a little bit of a belly left over from my pregnancy, so I've been doing the jackknife exercise a lot. Haven't been doing it long enough to see a difference there yet! Each exercise tells you which muscle it works, so you can look for the ones that work your abs.

The My Routine is great. You can setup any sequence of yoga and/or strength training exercises and click "go". It doesn't stop for you to have to click anything, just goes through the routine! That's what I've been using so that I know I can just turn it on, start the routine and be done in 15 mins if I'm in a hurry.

The aerobics are good too. With the "Free Step" you can do step aerobics while you change the TV channel to watch something else!

I don't like to run, but I do like the games such as the obstacle course and bike riding. It's more of a jog in place, but it's more fun because it's a game and you have a goal!

My hubby purchased the Wii system for us for a family gift for Christmas. As an Early b-day gift, he gave me the Wii Fit Plus. I personally love it! :P

I do not have any 'cons' to list for it. Since Christmas, I have dropped 5.5 lbs and for my personal goal, I only have about 8 lbs more to go. This is for my own personal satisfaction as I know for myself and from others that I am not overweight. I am using it for the Yoga and some of the Strengthening positions. The Fit Plus (balance games) do get the heart rate up, and make it so that as you are trying to attain a better 'score', you are working, burning calories, yet you are having fun at the same time.

You have to remember tho... This is a small part of the process to weight loss if this is your desire. For myself, for the new year, I have also taken my diet into consideration as well. When you are trying to loose weight, one MUST INCREASE water intake and WATCH meal portions, and SLOW DOWN on snacks... you also need to make wiser choices by eating better (nothing processed/ fatty/ salty, etc.).

It is not a matter of doing the routines daily, but if you at least do these routines every other day, you should notice a big improvement overall to your well-being and your body~ as with any fitness program.

EDIT:
Oh~ and another thing I love...
When I am on the balance board, my son will do the same thing I am doing. I feel great when my son does this as he learns the value of fitness vs. just sitting and doing nothing (or playing a hand-held). My son is very active on our treadmill and stationary bike~ he loves to work-out with us~ and he's only five. If he keeps that, he will have a great wellness value with him for life. :)

My husband got me the Wii Fit for my birthday this past summer and then got me the Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum for Christmas (at my request). I really like the Jillian workouts. She's the trainer for Biggest Loser (in case you don't watch that) and she's in AMAZING shape. I actually work up quite a sweat. I use my Wii along with a couple of gym workouts per week and then on my "nights off", I still try to do some push-ups, lunges, and core ab work after the kids are in bed, while I'm watching my little bit of TV for the night. My goal has been to just keep moving and it seems to be working.

I have had the Wii fit four two years now. I used it a lot before I after I hadmy son and before I got pregnant with our daughter. It does work! Of course you do have to have healthy eating habits to, those combined you will really notice a difference. I am your same height and I am actually working to get down to your weight! So, in my opinion I'd say kudos to you for wanting to do more. I find that doing it for at least 40minutes is good! I like that you can pick and choose a customized workout that works for your body. Good luck.

our family purchased the fit plus after Christmas. We have an 11 and soon to be 13 yr old that like to compete. Neither play sports on a team, but we wanted to get them to stop being couch/computer potatoes--it has helped them. I personally would like to lose weight, and when I am consistant on the aerobics activities, I do notice a weight drop. From here on out I plan on trying to get in 30 minutes a day--at least 15 of which is aerobics. I think it is a great activity for everyone.

We also purchased the Wii Fit for Christmas. I just now finished my first workout. I really enjoyed it. I don't feel tired by any means but I feel like I worked out. My legs and middle area feel like I have done something. This is the first time I have done anymore than a few things because the kids are always here interrupting me. I would like to try to do this a couple times a week. I am the type of person who hates to exercise but really had fun doing this.
I can't really give you any results yet but I have good intentions of keeping it up.
