Where Can I Get a Barney Cake?

Hi Mommies! My son absolutely ADORES Barney and with his 2nd birthday right around the corner I'd love to have a Barney cake at his party, the problem is...I can't seem to find one ANYWHERE! I've looked at all the local grocery stores (on-line) and either they don't do character cakes OR they offer every characted under the sun EXCEPT Barney! I'm sure I can call up a bakery and have them make him one, but I'm really trying to keep costs down and NOT spend an arm and leg for a cake that we'll get to look at for a few hours and then it's gone! :) And for those mother who might suggest I make it myself, that's not really an option. I am not a cook or a baker and it would end up looking like a purple blob of nothingness! :) Any suggestions would be great. I live in the Parkville area, so anything semi-local would be wonderful.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for your advice and suggestions. I'm going to look into all of those options and see which one suits what I'm looking for. Thanks again! :)

C.,

I wanted a copy of my daughters 1st Birthday invitation on her birthday cake. We took it to Hermans Bakery on Holabird Ave (and Merritt). They took a picture of it and copied it onto the cake. They can do it with almost any picture. If they have a problem with it being a licensed character, take a picture of your son in a Barney outfit...

Are you familiar with the Bel Air area? I would bet that the Bel Air Bakery would do it. And their cakes are the best!!

Good luck!

Hi, in the Perry Hall are they have a store called Cake Cottage and they usually have a ton of stuff, you might be able to find the decorative stuff that goes on top of it and just buy a regular cake from your grocery store. Their phone number is ###-###-####. They are on Bel Air Rd in the same shopping center as Patient First. Call them first to see if they have it but they usually have a good amount of stuff! Good Luck!

Try Fishers Bakery in Ellicott City, MD. They bake all kinds of cakes for children's birthday parties and they are excellent. Depending on the size they are also reasonable.

Hi C.,
I don't know where you live, but you can find character cakes at a Sam's Club Bakery or a BJ's Club. They have wonderful cakes with whipped icing that is not very sweet. I hope this helps you.

Hi C.,

You should try "Cake Connection" and the information is:

I got my daughter's princess castle birthday cake and it was so beautiful. Got so many compliments and it was also delicious.

Good luck.
