What Week of Pregnancy Am I In???

I am very confused about what week I am in in my pregnancy. I am not able to go to the doctor for another month due to lack of funds and insurance problems. This is my third pregnancy, and it was a BIG surprise. My last period was May 26, but it was short and only dark brown. I had been feeling dizzy, sick, tired and starting to get a belly for the last two months. I only took a pregnancy test because I was suppose to start that day and I felt sick, so I thought I would just see. And it came back positive. I didn't start thinking I was further than 5-6 weeks, until the last three days I have felt movement. I am 98% certain that this is baby movement due to the type and frequency-and that I have had two babies before. In thinking about the timing I would be 10-11weeks along which would make sense that I am feeling flutters already (i felt my second child at 9weeks).
Anyone else have this experience of having a period even though you were pregnant, or that you were further along than you thought. I know the doctor will be able to tell me but since I won't be able to speak with her for a while to confirm I thought I would just toss out the question here!

Thanks
P.

I would find my local clinic or get to welfare or WIC if you are in Ohio as soon as possible to get help. Just because you have no funds. There are places that will help you to get the care you need, also try women helping women.

P.,
Spotting and/or full periods after implantation is extremely common. It has happened to me in all three of my pregnancies. Just go back to the last full period, which was April for you? That is if May was the one where you only spotted. Babycenter.com has a good pregnancy calculator also.
Hope this helps!

Hi P.,
This happened with our 1st child. I also got my period while I was pregnant ~ it was very light. When I went to the dr. he said I was way further than I had thought. Good luck!

I would contact health point in Covington. Tell them about your money situation and they will charge you according to income. I went there once when my husband had started a new job and thee was a month or two when we had no insurance. It is a sliding scale they use. I would look them up and call them, if for some reason they don't work out, they might know a place you can go to get a free prenatal/ultrasound - but I am sure they will be able to help you : )

good luck!
I hope you figure it out soon, I imagine it is driving you crazy.

I think only an early ultrasound could tell for sure, with my second I had a "period" that ended up being a subchrionic hemmorage. The baby and I were fine but I did bleed through out the entire pregnancy. I actually didn't have my first OB appointment until I was 12 weeks along because of these periods. When you can go do tell the OB about the bleeding. Oh yeah and Congradulations!

I've heard of people having periods while pregnant. It's not as uncommon as people seem to think. The only way to know for sure, as I'm sure you know, is to go to the doctor. They'll measure you and will be able to give you a more accurate "guess." I absolutely hate to even say this, but you can go to the Neighborhood Health Clinic with out insurance. (They are NOT my favorite groups of docs, but it would be ok for your first appt at least.) I believe they work on a sliding scale, so you pay according to your income. That would give you an idea of where you're at in your pregnancy, if nothing else. If you are 9 weeks, you should see a doctor sooner, rather than later. If you do see the doc, make sure they call in your prescription for prenatal vitamins to Meijer. They're totally free there!!!! You don't need insurance or anything! :) Way awesome for those of us with less than stellar prescription coverage.

Congrats on the new baby! Good luck with everything!!!

I had more of a period than that when I was pregnant! A full-blown, dark red, heavy flow, 8 days period. We assumed I was 7 week along when I had horrible cramping and bright red blood. They did an early ultrasound (I wouldn't have usually agreed to it) to make sure the pregnancy was ok and it was, however it turned out I was 11 weeks. Thinking back it made more sense that I had gotten pregnant at that point anyhow.

Good Luck! :)

Hi P.,
I work for a wonderful organization that offers free pregnancy tests and free ultrasounds to women, it is called Elizabeth's New Life Center. They can even help you with finding pre-natal care during this time without insurance. The ultra-sound will be the most accurate way of determining how far along you are. They have offices in 5 locations, so there is probably one near you. Please call ###-###-#### on Monday to set up an appt. at the center near you.

Hi P. I will have to tell you my story and maybe it will make you feel better if not it will be a good laugh for you. Our first pregnancy went pretty well. Then due to my health we had two miscarriages and then after 17 shots and a short bed rest 8 1/2 years later we got our son. I also had IBS pretty bad. Like you I felt a little nausa, brownish discharge, tummy getting puffier by the minute. I went to the Dr. and he said with your IBS and all the problems you have there is no way you can be pregnant. I was helping wheeling a wheel barrow etc. and on my 32nd birthday the DR office called and said guess what 'you are pregnant. So within five months we had our second son. Now the boys are best friends but our daughter felt somewhat out of place because there was such a gap in ages. All is well now they are all best friends. Good Luck and it will work out for you too. You sound like an absoulute GREAT MOTHER.

i felt baby movement really early with my third too-- around 11-12 weeks!

was the bleeding on day 28 or more like day 21 of your cycle? implantation bleeding is pretty common, but happens about a week after ovulation, so it's not quite on schedule with your normal period (assuming that you have a normal period.......)

my friend had a full period after she got pregnant, and had a healthy pregnancy and a beautiful baby. so it happens...

lucky you, you might already be through the yucky first trimester, without even knowing it!!!!

I had one period after I was pregnant with my first child, which is why I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was about 9 weeks along. I had a normal period and then the next month I spotted for a few days, so I was still in denial that I was pregnant. It's very possible, but only your doc can tell you. Hopefully you work out your insurance issues soon.
Good luck!

I spotted at the beginning of 2 of my 4 pregnancies and it was the dark brown old blood. My Dr assured me that this is normal.
Hope you can get to a dr soon.

Congrats! My lmp was May 25th so I am right with you. I started to feel something also but at the stage I highly doubt its the baby. I have put mine off as gas bubbles or something. Sometimes the "period" is just implantation bleeding. I found out June 29th I was prego w #3 and the doctor wont see me until July 30th. Have you gotten sick yet. I always get sick at 8wks... so far just nauseated so I am about right at 7wks and some days. Your due date would be like March 1st . You should go to www.babycenter.com they have lots of helpful info and you can see what stage you are right now and what to expect

I have two things. A friend of mine had a periodish that was brownish and her dr told her it was he egg burroing into the uterus. The other thing I will say is my sister thought she was only a 10 weeks and started feeling her baby and thought that was odd, movement so early, it ended up she was father along and was pregnant with twins. Dont want to scare you but that has happened before...
Good Luck

I felt movement very early... because I was pregnant with twins. Maybe your calculations are right. Good luck and hope everything goes well!
