So, my youngest is on the end of his cloth diapering career. He is having a poo issue so we are going through diapers like there is no tomorrow. So, resorting back to paper:(
I have all this shells and all in ones....I stopped using the fabric inserts and would use The g diaper flush-able liners.
Can I Good Will them? or Second hand them to a consignment shop?
It is a good idea to donate them but I (selfishly) kept mine and used them for years as "rags."
My husband thinks they are the BEST way to dry a freshly washed car ;)
Maybe contact a women's domestic violence shelter to see if they could use them.
Craigslist or similar. I just gave all of mine to a friend.
My neighbor is using cloth diapers with inserts and all the cute covers. She had another brand first but then found these and liked them more, so she put her used ones on ebay and sold them for the cost shed paid new, plus shipping! She knows many parents who are able to resell them for nearly what they paid. If you want the chunk of money, sell them! If not, Im sure another new M. will love them. I wouldnt think theyd be a great match for a woman in a shelter since they seem to need a different type of washing and they might not always be able to take care of them the way that makes them so usable. If I was homeless Im not sure Id want to pack around wet and dirty cloth diapers hoping to have enough money for a laundromat. But I may be wrong.
A couple of friends say they tend to have good resale value on Craigslist if they're name brand and in excellent condition. Otherwise a shelter could probably use them, or donate them to tornado victims.
Happy Heiny's sends cloth to orphanges in underdeveloped countries. I think they take all kinds - you could check with them.
Donate them to The Cloth Diaper Foundation, or other similar awesome programs for lower income families.
You could sell them online. Diaperswappers, classified ads (here in UT local mom's scour KSL classifieds for diapers lol)
Send them across seas to Japan or here in the USA to weather damaged areas.
Put them up on Freecycle. If you're not yet a member, it's a really great Yahoo group that allows people to give away stuff they otherwise might throw away. You can find it on www.yahoo.com under groups.
I use cloth diapers for cleaning and dusting. When they get pretty stained or ratty, I pitch them.
