I seem to get more than average ear wax in my one ear. I also get whitish stuff in my ears. Sometimes my ears get sooooo itchy. I also have ongoing sinus pr don't know if that is related.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Yes I have used the candles. I enjoy using them a couple times I was amazed with the amount of wax that came out my ear. About the size of my pinkie finger nail.

My sister was advised to drop warm peroxide in my nephew's ears. He has an overly abundant amount of ear wax. Perhaps that will work for you?

Have you ever had your ears candled?
Opinions on it vary but I know it has helped my husband immensely. He constantly had ear infections. I started candling his ears and no more ear infections/excess wax. You can google it. You can buy the beeswax ear candles at most health food stores.

Hi, C.:

Yes, ears and sinus problems are related.
Get some ear candles from a health food store and
have a friend candle your ears periodiically.

If you can't find them around here,
call the Heritage Store in Virginia
Beach, VA
and ask them to ship some to you.
Just a thought.

Could it be allergies? Try Claritin or Zyrtec for a few days. Benadryl is best, but can make you very sleepy.

Not sure exactly what the physiology of it is, but my son, who has year round allergies (environmental, not food) inherited my hubby's excessive ear wax function, lol. And when his allergies are raging, the ear wax flows! When he is not having really bad allergies (his is less red eyes and more runny nose, congestion and sneezing), things are much more normal. But when the allergens flare (like this month especially, with all the tree pollens in the air right now where we are) his ears are like RIVERS of wax.

So maybe if you can take something for your sinus issue, that will help with your ear. ? I also have an ear (yes, it is just one) that seems itchy a lot. It sometimes feels like I have a small hair growing half way down the canal that is moving and it tickles/itches. Drives me crazy...

My son had that. The ENT gave him some sort of Lotrimin type cream to put in his ear and it took it away.

Sounds to me like you have thrush or some type of yeast infection. I would try using some warm olive oil with some garlic in it. Use it to rub inside your ear canal. The garlic will help you to get rid of the yeast. You can also try taking probiotics to help control the yeast issue, as this will also help to get rid of the yeast.

I clean out my ears (and my son's) with warm water and peroxide.
I found this awhile back and I just love it.

Sounds like allergies to me - they can cause both the sinus issues and the itchy ears. Have you ever been tested for allergies? Or tried taking claritin or something similar?

Try some ear wax softener. It will help get rid of the extra ear wax. I would also tell you to take a q-tip gently to the ears when you get out of the shower and clean your ears. The wax will come out easier. I usually get wax more in one ear than another. I would say that the wax in the ear and the sinuses are related. Do some saline solution every day to help keep the sinuses clear. I have not tried it but I have heard that nettie pots are good. Good luck
