The 2-year-old daughter of a very close friend of mine (I met on MamaSource!) has just been diagnosed with Leukemia. I'm trying to locate an online resource for creating a personal webpage for updates on her treatment and progress. Any ideas or input is greatly appreciated!

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your responses and direction. CaringBridge.org is perfect! I have posted a site for Baby Olivia and you are most welcome to visit and leave a message for she and her mother, Jolene. I mentioned earlier that Jolene and I met via MamaSource.com, so she is part of our community! Any thoughts and prayers are surely welcome.

God bless! www.CaringBridge.org/visit/oliviavarney

Caringbridge is a great way to keep family and friends updated. It also has restricted access so only those you give the page info to can access it. It is also a way to find other families going through the same situation as you.

I second CaringBridge!! A few people I know use them and it's a wonderful source for keeping everyone updated and allows friends and family to send their support by signing the guestbook.

A good friend of mine who was diagnosed with cancer this year uses a blog site to keep everyone informed. Honestly I dont know exactly how it works, but we can post comments to the family, and they keep everyone updated. It has really been helpful to those who are concerned but not close enough to the family for personal contact evey time news changes. God bless you for your efforts, every little thing can help!

I'm so sorry for your friend. A good friend of mine from high school's son was also DX with Leukemia and his wife has the following journal. Very helpful as they had to move from here to Tennessee to go to St. Jude. Hope this helps.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend's daughter! I have a friend who has a foundation that has a pager ministry for families dealing with cancer. It is a wonderful way for those families to know that others are out there praying for healing and strength! I got one for one of my friends who had breast cancer, but unfortunately, she has since passed. If you are interested, please let me know and I can pass along the information. God bless!

www.easysite.com
The family can create their own web page, add blogs, pictures, news and updates.
We love it, Frank from KLTY 94.9 told us about it, safe.
It's free for three months and then I think we pay 4.95 a month.

Bless you and keep us updated!
