my daughter is 8 and will pretty much eat any vegetable. but if it's a veggie she hasn't tried or if i know it's not her favorite and she'll give me trouble i give her a VERY small amount. for example she used to not like broccoli. i started by giving her ONE broccoli... then each time I gave her 1 more. now she loves brocoli and we eat it several times per week. she still hates peas. i'll give her 5 peas and she'll eat them when i tell her too. but i think if you put too much on their plates they get overwhelmed and that's when they get stubborn! LOL - i mean, really .... you can make you kid eat ONE pea right? lol that's how i always start off with my little girl anyway.

Pretty much all of them but corn, but he prefers raw vegetables that he can handle or vegetables cooked so that they still 'snap' like asparagus and broccoli.

I usually accompany it with something unhealthy .. cheese dip, salt to dip it in (his tomatoes and cucumbers) but i figure it gets him to eat a lot of veggies i'm cool with it.

Both my kids eat all vegetables, since day 1. My daughter likes them raw. My son likes most steamed.

My daughter's favorites are artichoke & broccoli.

My son loves yellow squash. That has been his favorite since he started eating solids.

They both love raw red & yellow peppers dipped in hummus.

My girls LOVE when I do a raw veggie platter, which I do a lot. On it I have carrots, tomatoes, broccoli, red, yellow and green peppers, sugar snap peas. They also like cooked carrots, green peas, green beans and corn.

My kids are pretty picky when it comes to veggies! They both eat a ton of different fruits, but veggies, not so much. Mine are 16 mos and 3 and they both love peas! Green beans are usually a hit with the little one, they both like carrots and sweet potatoes. My daughter (3) will eat carrots both cooked and raw. She also enjoys celery. Sometimes they eat corn. One of their absolute favorites though is edamame! My daughter loves to eat it right out of the pod. I take it out for my son but he will eat it by the handful too! Oh yes, and my daugther recently started eating salad with ranch or balsamic. That is recent and not all the time!

my kids are 9YO, one of them has been a veggie enthusiast practically since she started solids and has tried just about every veggie I've ever sat in front of her (she's not crazy about beets, bitter melon, or radishes, but thinks green beans, peas, bell peppers, squash, broccoli, lettuce, carrots, cabbage, and yes, even brussels sprouts are yummy). Her twin is a bit more particular - initially it was just corn and carrots but gradually she started eating broccoli, green beans, cabbage, etc.

Wow! I am surprised after reading all of these responses! The only veggie I can get my boys (ages 6, 5, and 3) to eat without a fight is carrots. Of course, I sneak things into their meals by pureeing or chopping them up really small. What the heck am I doing wrong? Maybe that will be my next post. They do eat a ton of fresh fruit though...

my 5yo used to eat anything steamed or raw. it was wonderful, but unfortunately that all changed when we moved closer to my family who spoiled her against my wishes and her palette changed.

it's hard but I stay firm on getting her servings in, but she'll eat:

carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, corn (on the cob only lol), zuchinni, and cucumbers (no peel).

she is down for ANY fruit haha.

my 20mo is a good eater, and I'm hoping to keep that going!

My kids used to not eat very many veggies at all. But that was when I served mainly frozen vegetables heated up in the microwave. Boring! Then I started experimenting with flavors and making the vegetables fun, and that's when things started to turn around. Now they eat pretty much anything I serve. (Believe it or not, I even found a way to make Brussels sprouts fun!) You can check out all of my recipes at www.artfulveggie.com.

DS just turned 5. He eats carrots (steamed, not raw), asparagus, broccoli, green beans, peas, cauliflower, avocado, seaweed salad, edamame, spinach (raw but not cooked), green pepper (raw, not cooked), artichokes, sweet potatoes (sometimes), corn, olives, cabbage (mostly as cole slaw)and any pickled vegetable (okra, cucumbers, beans, etc). He will occasionally eat winter squash, lettuce, celery and cucumbers. He used to love mushrooms but seems to have given them up. Has never liked eggplant or summer squash.
