We've just moved to Parker from the Vegas area with our two girls 3 and 9 mos. I would love to hear any suggestions about Parker i.e., peditricians, Holiday events not to miss, schools, restaurants, family activities, anything and everything. It's sometimes hard with the two gilrs to really get out and get a feel for things right away, so any help would be awesome! My 3yr old is VERY active and loves school but her neighborhood public school, Cherokee Trails is full. What other options do people suggest? I appreciate any responces!!!!

What can I do next?

Thanks Moms for your input! I will difinately check out all of your suggestions.
Taren, this is so true, everyone here is so nice and fiendly, not like Vegas at all. That's why we moved back. I'm from Pagosa Springs but have never lived in the Denver area.
Thanks again!

We just moved to Franktown from NLV in August! Welcome! We have been using Greenwood Peds as well. So far so good! I did some research online and the whole practice got good reviews. We see Dr. Avner. They have great staff (something that was hard to find in Vegas!) and a great website, www.greenwoodpediatrics.com. Good luck!!!

Our library system is terrific and open every day. I would suggest signing up for their newsletter as there are lots of fun, free events across all ages.

Also, the Town of Parker has an email site with newsletters alerting you to all sorts of cool things to do. Just search online and it should be easy to find.

If you're a gym person, I am totally IN LOVE with Lifetime Fitness at Parker and 470. They offer 2 hours of free daycare if your child is a member($6 per MONTH per child) and no locking in to any contracts.

Lastly, I'd suggest looking on Meetup.com for groups in the area that cater to your particular interests. There are several.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Hi S.,

We love, love, love Greenwood Pediatrics (and it's right by our house)! Dr. Avner and Dr. Gill are both amazing and all the nurses and staff are super friendly and helpful. It's on the SW corner of Jordan and Centre Circle

I have a 4 year old that goes to preschool at our church, Southeast Christian on the NE corner of Jordan and Wintergreen. I really like it. My soon to be 3 year old will go there next year. It's a great school and a great church!

The Wildlife Experience does lots of fun things for the holidays. You should get on their website. It's pretty close--just on Lincoln between Jordan and I-25. It's great to have a membership there, especially for the colder months. The kids will never get tired of visiting. They have Winter Wonderlights which is starting up soon. They have a fun event for Easter too. There are also lots of activities to get involved in at The Parker Rec Center. You can get on their website too.

If you are looking for a place for your 3 yo to take dance, we go to The Colorado School of Dance. We love it there! All three of my girls are involved.

We have only lived here for about a year, but we have found plenty to do to keep us busy! Hope this helps!

Hi and welcome! I used to live in Parker, but now am in Castle Rock. Have you heard of Mops? It is a wonderful way to connect with local moms in your area and get to know people. It also offers you a break and a play time for your kids.
There are a few indoor bounce house / play areas that are nice in the winter time since it gets so cold. There are 3 in the Parker area that I know of, but my favorite is Monkey Buziness. They have coffee and snacks, and there is no time restriction like some of the other places.
There are a ton of great shops around Parker. My favorite place is Real Deals, great prices, but they are only open 2 days a week. ( Thurs and Sat. I think).
Greenwood Pediatrics is where I take my kids, all of the doctors we have seen have been wonderful, we were there yesterday in fact!
You are close to Colorado Springs (within 1 hr. drive) and there is a ton to do down there. Also, you are close enough to the mountains that you could go up for the day and explore around a little.
Colorado offers so much, don't be afraid to go see it!
Enjoy! :)
