HI- my question is that I have really dark hair on my legs and it seems like I have to shave every day to keep my legs and arm pits smooth. Does any one have any suggestions on products that help from keepin the hair from growing back as often? I live in a real small town so not alot of choices for waxing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I too have tried Veet and have found it to work pretty well---I am just bad at keeping it in stock at home and I am usually in a rush in the morning and too tired at night.

The best thing that works for me now is a product called Razor Sharp from Philosophy. For quick shave jobs it works well alone but when I have time I use a sugar/salt scrub first and then shave with the Razor Sharp. Before I found this stuff, I found myself 1-2 days between shaves but when I can do the scrub and the Razor Sharp I can go 4-5 days.

Now this isn't at the local Wal-Mart and it seems silly at first to me why I can keep this stuff in my home rather than the Veet but with that said...a tube of Veet lasted me for 2 maybe 3 times. A little Razor Sharp goes a long way and so does a big tub of sugar/salt scrub. Here's the website where I get this stuff. They offer free shipping a lot of times and it comes priority mail and I usually get it in the mail on the second day---Very fast. They have lots of other great skin products as well.

Best wishes.

I would probably try nads. Just a quick note - hair that grows fast is a sign that you're healthy. I shave almost every day too, and I find that I just get faster at it. :) Either way check the internet, there are lots of options out there for things that stunt hair growth, I just haven't had the money to spend on it.

I do my own waxing - sure it hurts for the few seconds you actually pull the wax off, but otherwise, it's fine.

I do my eyebrows, lip, underarms and legs at home.

The more you wax, the less often you have to do it. Each time you remove some of the hair permanently. And when it grows back, it's soft, not prickly.

My hair is coarse, and I use the Gigi Microwaveable Wax Kit that I buy from Sally Beauty Supply. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013IL9VW?ie=UTF8&t...)

If you switch to waxing - I suggest getting done professionally first, to see how it feels and some technique tips.

G., I have the same problem! My friends are all jealous, and if it was only the hair on my head it would be all right. But I have to shave my legs every day or I can't stand to go to bed at night. The lady that does my hair and nails also waxes my eyebrows and my armpits. It really works. Do you have a beautician that cuts your hair? She probably does eyebrows, armpits, etc, too.
I personally have tried Nair and it burned my skin terribly! And the epilady should be outlawed! OUCH!!! It jerks your hair out with a wire coil and it hurts like crazy! I guess it's up to you if you try these, but if you try Nair just try a small patch of skin first like the directions say. I wish I would have!
Right now I just shave the bottom half of my legs everyday and the top half once in a while as that part of my leg isn't so bad. My husband keeps insisting that I buy a decent women's electric razor. You can take them in the shower with you and everything. It would be cheaper than razor blade refills in the long run that's for sure!

Nair and Epilady (ouch!) are the only things I can think of that I have used and have experienced my hair not growing back very quickly. I also use pants or capris...long skirts (hide the hair)...lol.

I know what you're going through!! I have very thick, course hair all over my body. I'm so lucky I'm not a man because all the men in my family are as hairy as apes!! LOL

I've tried it all! Waxing, Nair, Electric razors... UGH!! Shaving always leaves the softest, closest shave and I always go back to it. I use a fabulous product and I LOVE it!! It's like shaving with a very delicate moisturizing lotion and leaves your skin soft and moisturized and pretty much eliminates ingrown hairs, razor burn and helps to delay hair growth. My hubby swears by it as well. In fact, if I run out I'll use whatever, but he will go on a shaving strike until he get's more. He just won't shave with anything else.

So here's the thing, you can't get it in stores. In fact, I signed up as a distributor so I can get it (along with other stuff) at a discount. I just don't want anyone here to think I'm trying to market myself or make money off this reply. Seriously, this stuff is awesome and what I said about it is not a sales plot, it's the truth!!! It's called "Fuzzi Wuzzi" and it really is fantastic. In fact, if you want a sample, send me a private message and I will send some to you.

It sounds like you have an endocirne problem. You need more than just a shaving product. Please go see an endorcrinologist and have your testosterone level checked No, I am not kidding. My friend had the same problem.
Good luck!

Okay, there is this product that a lot of women I know swear by. It's called Magic Cream (Shave). You can buy it in Walgreens but it is hard to find because it is actually made for African American men to use on their beards. So, it may be easiest to ask an employee if they carry it, since not all of their stores do.

Anyhow, it works like Nair or Neet basically...be sure and read the directions and follow them, though. It didn't work for me because my hair is too fine, I think. I've had the same problem with Nair occasionally. However, if your hair is thicker, then it should work. It worked on my husband's beard. --just my 2 cents. Good luck!

Have you considered an epilady? It is easy to use and you can by them online (I got one from my husband for my birthday). The one I have pulls the hair out with, essentailly, tiny tweezers. The first few times you use it are rather painful (comparable to waxing, since it does pull the hair out rather than cutting it like shaving) because the hair is actually tougher, but after a while it's pretty easy. I cant use nair or any other cream as I have VERY sensative skin on my legs and it burns them pretty bad. i tried Nads and that didn't work well either...it took out some of the hair, but not much. I can get such bad razor burn every time I shave, that the Epilady is my favorite tool for removing the hair.

I have the same problem!! And I hate shaving!! Nair is really bad! I tried Veet and it was a lot better than Nair, however I still went back to shaving. You can buy wax at most stores and do that yourself, you just have to be able to stand the pain, lol! If you do decide to wax yourself, I'd recommend nads too :)

I put out this request recently too. I am trying the new Veet product that works in 3 minutes in your shower. The gall at the store said to watch skin sensitivity especially in bikini area and try maybe 2 minutes the first try, then increase if not irritated.
