Seeking Recommendation and Promotional Code for Cares Kids Fly Safe

I have been searching for a seat or device for traveling by plane with my 2 year old. I typically travel with his carseat in the plane but that is getting too big for his size (puts his feet too close to the seat back). I saw the Cares Kids Fly Safe shoulder harness system on-line. Does anyone have any experience with this system? Can you make a recommendation? Also, if anyone knows of a promotional code for this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

You guys are awesome!! Thanks, especially, to Michelle who suggested the retailmenot.com website. I did find a promotional code and got the cares kids fly safe device through the skymall website and got $20 off!! I am on a shopping high! Yay mamasource! I plan on using that website anytime I shop on the internet. Now, let's just hope this thing works on the plane and keeps him quietly in his seat ;)

I used to travel with a car seat but my daughter (2 1/2) was to big for such a little space on the planes. I borrowed the Cares Kids Fly Safe system and LOVE it. It was soooo easy to do, light weight and kept her in her seat (without kicking the person in front of us)! A must have if you travel with a child...especially a 2 year old!

Hi R....

Just another loyal CARES harness system user, here! It has been a wonderful resource for flying. We purchased one for our (then) 2-year-old. It worked like a charm and keeps him in his seat because he thinks of it as a car seat. He's now 3 1/2 and it is still the best investment (especially if you fly a lot).

Sorry, I don't have a promo code... but, it is so worth it!

Good luck!

M.

We love it! We used them for our two kids to fly to Australia and back and they worked a charm. Worth the money!

I never found a promo code for the harness, so I paid full price for it online. I thought that it was fairly easy to use and worth the money. The only complaint I had was that it is a 4-point harness instead of a 5-point, so my daughter tended to slide forward in the seat a bit. I felt like I had to keep scooting her butt back so that the upper part of the harness didn't "choke" her.

Also, I had one stewardess who wouldn't let us use it because she was under 2, even though we had purchased a separate seat for her.

Feel free to send me a private message if you have other questions.

Hi R.!

I bought the Cares system and it was easy to use. I bought it for a trip to Disney World for my youngest. She was 18 months, and I think a little young for it. We ended up having her in our lap on the way home.

By any chance are you in the Cleveland area? If so, I would be more than happy to rent it to you to see if you would want one for yourself. It comes with a DVD that shows you how to operate it, plus a written manual. If you would like to borrow the DVD first, that would be fine too.

Good Luck!
K.

The Kids Fly Safe devise is GREAT! Fits in a small pouch and is easy to install. The best part is that you don't have to lug around the big car seat (although we still check ours with luggage so we don't have to worry about having one at our destination). I highly recommend the device.
