If you know of a doctor who is willing to order and administer thimerosal-free shots, please let me know. It can be anywhere in the San Antonio Metro area. Thanks!

BTW: Dr. Diane McMains is very accomodating when it comes to vaccinations from what I hear from a friend. She will order thimerosal-free vaccines and she does offer alternative vaccination schedules, etc.

However, she does not accept my insurance :o((((

D.,

You might try Dr. Diane McMains. She is a very parent friendly ped. Many of our home birth families who are refusing or delaying immunizations use her. If she doesn't know, perhaps she can direct you to someone who does.

Much luck in your search,

Also remember, the state of Texas allows for you to refuse any vaccine. It's a personal exception form that you fill out and then even if your child has not recieved all the vaccines he will still be allowed in school. I also agree with the other advice to delay or space out the vaccines. You can find out more by going to the Mothering.com forums. Mothering magazine is a great source about the dangers of thimersal. Good luck.

Dr. Melissa Kempf, works with Dr. Walthall, and a few others, NE Loop 410, tel ###-###-####. She is a DAN trained physician, and is in Family Practice. She treats all children and adults, whether they have special needs or not. If there is any physician in town who would be willing to go through the trouble to get these vaccinations in a timerosal free format, she would be the only one I know of. Good luck. And, thank you for being willing to vaccinate your child safely, with vaccines that don't have a deadly toxin. You might want to discuss the schedule of vaccinations, and just do 1 at a time, over an extended period, rather than the clumping that the AMA recommneds.

Wow...that's pretty lame because that's where I take my kids and I think they actually told me that they did use thimerosal-free vaccines... so I guess they lied to me!
We have an appt today actually, so I'll ask them about that when we get there. Thanks for the info!
