I'm new to the Durham area. I would like to find a place to purchase locally grown veggies. I live in N.Durham near Eno Elementary School.

What can I do next?

The Durham Farmer's market is every Wednesday and Saturday in the parking lot of the Old Durham Bulls Ball Park. I am not sure the streets. Also Duke has a Farmer's market on certain Fridays near the Medical Book Store. Also if you drive towards Roxboro through the country side there are stands on the side of the road. Especially in Warren County. My husband has purchased several different veggies this way and they are always great. The only difficulty is you have to pay cash. He started carrying a small amount of cash around just in case he sees a stand while working (he works in home health). I hope this helps and welcome to the area.

If it still exists, there is a small one in the parking lot of the high school on Roxboro rd on Wed and Sat. The big one is downtown. There is a small one in hillsborough in the downtown area, right off of 86, the main drag. There is a big one in Carrboro, next to Chapel Hill on Sat.
The real biggie is at the farmer's market in Raleigh, that is a long way, but it is a fun experience.
Whole foods carries good stuff and is off 9th st in Durham, and off 15-501 in Chapel Hill. Weaver Street is a locally owned coop and is brand new in Hillsborough, the downtown street. It is very nice and if it is not local it is organic. They also have a wonderful bakery. I have lived in orange county for 30 yrs- email me for anything. K.

We love Brinkley Farms in Creedmoor - they also come to the Durham farmers' market downtown at the old ballpark each week. http://www.brinkleyfarms.com/
