J.P. asks from Baytown, TX

Hello,
I am moving to Texas in 4 weeks from Ohio and am able to finally join my husband who got a job working at Exxon at moved 6 months ago. We are going to be living in Baytown. I have a 4 year old girl and almost 2 year old boy. I was wondering if someone could recommend a good pediatrician in the area, preschools for my daughter, and I am also going to be looking for a new OB/GYN for me. I do have some family there, but their kids are teenagers now so they are past the pediatrician and preschool stage. Thanks for any advice.
*** As far as the preschool goes, I am not looking to have my daughter start when we move. I am looking for the fall and I know sometimes you have to register early so that is what I was needing to know. Thanks!!!!

What can I do next?

Well, since others mentioned it I'll give you my recommendation for a great OB/GYN at Women's Hospital in Houston. I've referred many and everyone always likes her. She's warm, personable, calm and gentle. She meets you in her office with your clothes on the first time. I know my daughter drives a good distance to see her and her 4 yr old just loves her. My husband was impressed with her also.

I understand from our dental patients at work Rosalyn Gayle MD is the best OB/GYN in Baytown. I personally live in another suburb but work in Baytown. The best preschool EVER is actually over the Fred Hartman bridge in Deer Park. Peggy's Childcare is WONDERFUL!!! My grandaughter attends there and she has learned so much it's amazing. It is super clean, super organized and the teachers are so loving. Good luck with your move to Texas!

I am a former public school teacher who designed a child development center in the Woodforest community in 1983 so my own children would have a program rich in music, art, physical excersize, and academics/ My families naturally come from our community but many drive from Kingwood , Atascocita, Channelview and we have had families from Baytown.

Good luck with you move and welcome to TEXAS!!

Well, for a great pediatrician, we use Dr. Monica Marroquin on Garth Road. She is part of Texas Children's Pediatrics (out of Texas Children's Hospital). She is wonderful. Their number is ###-###-####. For Ob/Gyn's- unfortunately, there are not a lot of really good ones in Baytown. (I have worked in the hospital here, so I've heard lots) But, Houston is only half an hour away and there are lots of great docs. Dr. Held is awesome. She is at Med Center Ob/Gyn (at Methodist Hospital). Their number is ###-###-####. There is also Women's Hospital, I don't know any names there, but I know several women who go there. There are several preK programs, but this late in the year, they may be full. Learning Garden Academy is awesome!! They are at Trinity Tabernacle on E. Lobit. I think the best ones are through the churches. If you would like, you could email me if you have any other questions. What part of town will you be living in? We live in Pinehurst, right off of Hwy 146. Good luck!! K.

Hi, J.. We live in Baytown as well and use Dr. Monica Marroquin for my son and will definitely be using her for our new little one due in March. Welcome to Baytown and definitely feel free to ask any questions you have. I would also agree about going to Houston for an OB/GYN, suggest at Texas Women's. I do not have any suggestions as far as a preschool. Once again, welcome to town.

Welcome to Texas, Ms. Ohio you will love it here especially the weather. I work for LPISD and have made a wonderful friend Karen who is from Ohio and we nick named her Ms. Ohio she is an awesome friend. I have a grandson Sammy, my daughter also takes him to Dr. Monica Marroquin she is wonder and young she talks to you and is a genuine nice person and you can see it in her personality as well. My daughter had another pediatrician at first from the Clearlake area this doctor was all about how she was raising her kids and nothing else, she never let you get a word in. Anyway, welcome to Texas and hope you have a wonderful life here or wherever your family ends up.
Also if you still need an OBG Dr. Joyce Leblanc is wonderful! She has two offices one in Clearlake and the other in Pearland. She has been my OB for many years and is now my daughters as well.
