Pottery Barn Furniture

Do you feel the quality matches the price of the furniture? Some of the reviews that I've seen make it sound like the quality can be iffy. I'm looking at slipcovered gliders right now but am interested in other things as well.

What can I do next?

The prices are all fairly equal to the store, but not all the pieces are equal to the price. For the kiln dried, solid wood construction (and dyed leather, not painted leather)... it's a steal. For the composite, it's a rip off. It seems to me that they average their costs for a median price.

I guess from reading the responses you have received so far, it comes down to what material the item is made out of. We have a solid wood nursery/bedroom set from PBK and could not be happier. It is great quality & definitely worth the price we paid. Not to mention based on all our experiences with Pottery Barn/Kids they stand behind their products.

I have kids furniture from there that we LOVE! I do think it's a bit expensive, but in the long run, you get what you pay for. If the glider is something you think you will keep past your child growing out of the need for it, then I would purchase from PB. If you think it is something you will sell within a few years, I would go with something else.

I have a solid wood work table for my son and two solid wood chairs for him. LOVE them and worth every cent. We've had them for 4 years and barely a scratch and the chairs are so sturdy a 250lb person, my neighbor can sit on them and no creaking nothing super sturdy.

I have been helping a client sell her kids PB furniture and it all looks great.. Very sturdy and these were active kids.. Now her kids have moved into PB Teen Furniture and her Downstairs furniture was all purchased at Pottery Barn...

I Also sold a side table, a Round wood kitchen table and leather chairs.. all from Pottery Barn for her.. They all looked brand new after 5 years..

FYI.. we have been selling it on Craigslist.. these people are getting great deals..

My house is the pottery barn catalog...it's truly funny that you can walk through and go, "there's page 12", "there's page 20", etc.

We love their quality. Even better is their customer svc/returns dept. We purchased the toddler platform bed and it had a sinkhole after using a few months. Not only did they replace it at no cost, but they gave us a gift card for our troubles. Wow!

Good luck!

No, it doesn't. My kitchen table is from there and it cracked straight down the leg when we tried to move it. Also, I had a friend who managed a PB store who told me often they would have to take furniture out back and destroy it b/c it would come unsaleable.

When we were moving our boys to their big boy room I wanted to get the Thomas Beds for their room. I did a little searching around and found almost the same beds at JCPenney for $250 vs the $1000 for the Thomas Beds. A friend of mine in the furniture industry told me that (some of their furniture lines) JCPenney is to Pottery Barn what Gap is to Banana Republic. We bought the beds at JCPenney and they are solid and we LOVE them. Not to mention I saved $1500.

I don't know if they carry similar baby furniture, but I wish I wouldn't have spent sooo much on the glider that I bought. I "thought" I would hold onto it to use again, but it's just a big bulky piece of expensive furniture that is in the way.
