Has anyone had any issues with the bottom of the bottle melting in a bottle warmer?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I do not warm then in a bottle warmer the daycare does but they said that they have had other parents use them without any issue.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Platex has "original nursers" that do not melt in bottle warmer on the "decorative" ones have that issue. The directions only say not to microwave or boil over direct heat for both types.

If I remember correctly I think the directions on these say to not use in a bottle warmer,I could be wrong. I didn't really warm them up either, DS prefered cool breastmilk if at the sitter and formula after weaning, weird I know! I would warm it and he would refuse to drink it, pop it in the fridge for a few minuets at he was happy as a clam.
Might have to send warmer compatable bottles to warm in then transfer to the drop in.

I used to warm the bottle in a bowl of hot water. I wouldn't use any other method of warming.

I have used them. The daycare used to warm them in a crock pot filled with water with no problems. Also, at home we would warm them in the microwave with no problems. But I do remeber once, the daycare left the bottle in their too long and the bottle did melt. Ask the daycare to turn down the temperature on the bottle warmer or leave it in there for less time. Also, I like these bottles cause they are a lot easier to wash, just throw the bag away. M tiem is precious and every second counts. I know not green friendly, but i make up for it.

My daughter uses the playtex drop-in bottles--refuses other bottle types. I was also told by her daycare that their bottle warmer isnt compatible with our bottles. It was melting and/or popping. For whatever reason, they no longer warm bottles with hot water in a cup--perhaps there are safety concerns regarding spilling hot water and the babies? Or maybe they get too distracted with the babies and leave it in too long for the liners to withstand?

We tried to switch (bottle brands) but she refused... So, instead I send the breastmilk/formula in Avent bottles (I use Avent to pump so I have those bottles/containers). They warm it up in those and then they pour it into the playtex bottle. You'll have to send clean bottles/nipples along with the containers of milk/formula, but you can probably keep a box of drop-in liners, extra nipples, etc in her cubby.

I use these bottles for many daycare babies (I do home childcare). I have 2 using them now..one a brestfed baby, one formula. I have never owned a bottle warmer aparatus.

For formula fed babies, I just use the right temp water that baby prefers when I mix it up. Currently my little one prefers on the warm side. For the breastfed guy, his mom sends frozen formula in the sealed bags, so I pull what I need out and have a container I put hot tap water in to thaw. As I putter in the kitchen I change out the water (takes me a minute, literally) until it is thawed and the right temp when I need it. I never microwave or whatever. I only use tap water and he likes it pretty much the hot side of warm! I have never had an issue.

I have never worked in a center, but they do have ratios that should make it possible for them to have the time to do such a simple thing as properly warm a bottle, without needing to resort to methods that melt it. Otherwise, I agree with the others and send it in a "regular" bottle, just with a cap lid on it to be used for warming and have your Playtex bottles all set up (if you send them?) with the drop-in bag inside, nipple and cap assembly on and a cover. Then they can simply pour the warmed milk inside. I supply all those elements (even formula..Mommy obviously provides the breastmilk =), so its easier for me (I dislike a diaper bag going back and forth each day...)

Good luck!

I never warmed mine in the nurser. I used to warm it in glass in the warmer and then pour it in or run the drop in under hot water.

I never used mine in a warmer. I would warm it in a bowl of hot water, or warm the milk in the microwave and then pour it into the drop in. I love these bottles though, my son wont drink from any other.
