Hello,

I am looking for a new doctor for my son in the Plano area. I recently moved and the commute to take him to the doctor to Rowlett is a bit out of the way. Any suggestions? I am also looking for a Pediatric Pulmonologist in the Plano are for my son.

Thanks!

I love my son's pulmonologist! His name is Dr. Andrew Gelfand. Although he doesn't have a website, here is a link with his information: http://www.finddoctors.org/dr-andrew-gelfand.html. My 9yo son has seen him since he was a tiny baby. He is so concerned about my son as a whole. He trusts and listens to me. He also works at Children's Medical Center. I can't recommend him enough!

Good luck!

We use Dr. Samara @ Pediatric Place www.pedplace.com ###-###-#### (located at 15th and Coit by the hospital) They are great and open late and on Saturdays. They have several drs and nurse practioners as well and we have seen them all. They are all great.

For a pulminologist we use Dr. Rembecki @ KidLungs (he is in Frisco). www.kidlungs.com ###-###-####. We love him as he really takes the time to go over EVERYTHING with us, which he does with everyone, so the only negative thing is you are there forever. I would rather be there a little longer and have a thorough doctor.

Hope this helps

I second Pediactric Place. I have several friends that take their kids there. For the Ped Pulmonologist, I would say Dr Silver. He is in the same general area as Pediactric Place. HE IS GREAT!!!!!!!!! LOVE HIM!

I don't live in Plano but I can tell you the best pediatric pulminoligist around is Dr. Silver! My son had horrible problems with his asthma and was hospitalized several times. In walks Dr. Silver at the last hospital stay and my son has been wonderful since! He makes sure your child gets exactly what he/she needs to have lung health and he won't allow the insurance companies to deny the medicine he feels your child needs. He even sent a letter to my insurance company when they wouldn't pay for the meds my son needed and told them they were jeopardizing the health of his patient. He then told them if anything happened to his patient becuase he wasn't getting the meds he needed, he was going to sue their pants off. Low and behold, the insurance company paid for the meds. My son now is medication free and doing very well, thanks to Dr. Silver!!! Here's his information:

Not sure what side of Plano you're on, but if you're close to the west side we really like Dr. Schochet at Presby Plano (pediatric pulmonology).

My son has seen Dr. Peter Schocet and we absolutely adore him. He has been wonderful to our son and helped him tremendously!!! He has gotten it to the point of only doing breathing treatments as needed. I can not say enough good things about him. Give hime a shot!!!!
