My son has just been diagnosed w/ this symptom. we believed that it was allergies at first but after his face kept swelling (eyes) his blood and urine were tested and we found that he has Nephrotic Syndrome. We go see the kidney specialist on Tuesday and i was wondering if anybody has any advice on this matter or could shed some insight on it.

What can I do next?

Sweetie, are you the mama I suggested take her son and some urine in a cup to the ER asap? I keep wondering what happened to the boy, and I think it is you. I asked on my response for you to let me know...because I was so concerned... If it is you, I am sorry your lil boy is so sick. If I were you I would put in pediatric nephrotic syndrome in google - and go to the (dot).org sites and mayo clinic sites etc (the GOOD ones).
ok i think nephrosis is tissue destruction. it was prob the medicine. it can take a long time to come back from bad/wrong medicine. i got very sick behind penicillan, face swelling was the thing in yr post i experienced (and fatigue and pain, and itchy skin (toxins) i was very sick woman, thought i might die) but guess what ? the kidneys can repair themselves. mostly-lotsa water. just water. to flush his system.
i also squeeze some lemon in the water when i am just too sick of plain water. also buy a reputable bottled water! no sam's! i use crystal geyser. i dehydrate easily now, i live with huge stones also. be aware of HEALTHY urine (pee in clear glass), keep an eye on his!!! output color odor & cloudiness (immediately after and upon standing). urine is sterile btw.
if i can be of any help, email me at ____@____.com.
i will say some prayers, ok? he also needs lotsa rest, off his feet, watching tv, coloring. rest and water. jello has water so soed soup, see? good luck, mama, keep in touch. K.

Dear S.,
I am not an expert on the disease your son has but I do know that disease is caused by 1 factor in the body and that is acidity. If the body is alkaline then disease cannot exist.
In the past we had to change our diet and work hard at creating alkalinity in the body; now there is a way to hydrate the body with special, pure, ionized, alkaline water that is strong enough to rid the body of the toxic acidity and free radicals that cause the many different diseases people get. I have been drinking this kangen water and have experienced many miracles. I am in Fort Bragg and my friend in Ukiah also has the same machine; we are happy to share this water with you. Please give a call and we can find you someone who can get the water to you. For more information you can go to my website: www.tuneIntoWater.com The machine we both have is the same machine they use in the hospitals in Japan. The Enagic machine has been in the USA just 2 years, that is why you may not have heard about it. Please give me a call. I KNOW this water will help your child. My home number is ###-###-#### evenings cell ###-###-####.

Hi S.-

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis. My daughter (she'll be 3 in March) has kidney disease as well but caused structural issues/late diagnosis (not NS). I'm on a very good board that discusses various aspects of kidney disease. Everything from transplants to NS to emotial aspects of disease are discussed by parents and a very knowledgable moderator. http://groups.google.com/group/kidney-corner
The group has kept me sane over the past year.

My daughter is seen by the pediatric nephrologists at Lucile Packard Children's. If you want to discuss their program, please contact me directly. It's going to be a long road.

Hugs and Good luck!

p.s check out http://www.nephcure.org/
if you haven't found it already. It focuses on NS and FSGS.

Gosh S.,

I hsave never heard of that syndrome before! His symptoms sound so common though.

Try not to worry too much over the weekend. You should have all your answers on that day.

I'll say a little prayer for your son :O)

Hi, I would like to encourage you to watch a 9 minute documentary... www.sharethecause.com/live.

Toxic Body Burden is over whelming our children and creating many 'syndromes' because the body cannot work in an overloaded state.

Much can be done to take a proactive approach to bring healing to the foundation of the body.

Feel free to contact me via the site for more info if you so desire. L. Medina

I'm glad you will be seeing a nephrologist soon. It is critical to control this syndrome (my good friend's son was diagnosed with it over a year ago.) There are various degrees of it and each is treated a little bit differently. I'm sure you can google it and get a plethora of information, but take heart that it is treatable.

Best wishes and plenty of prayers and positive thoughts!
