I am 32 weeks pregnant and set to deliver at Scottsdale Healthcare North (on Shea and 90th Street). I live in Mesa, but we are required to find a pediatrician that has privileges at this hospital. Does anyone know a great pediatrician who was hospital priviledges here? I am on United Healthcare insurance.
I used that hostpital three times and we live in Gilbert. I used someone by the last name of Ziltzer... He ws alwayson staff for labor and delivery.
I go tho Mesa Pediatrics on this side of town only to Susan Chung.

My daughter currently goes to Scottsdale Pediatric Assoc. which is located right behind the hospital. All of the docs we've seen there are great--particularly Dr. Hurley and Dr. Kaye.

I agree with Cathi M, but just in case, Dr. Jennifer Caplan is wonderful and her office (she also works with 7 or so other pediatricians) is on the Scottsdale Shea campus. I am 99.9% sure they take United Health.

she is actually the 3rd doc we've had for our 1-yr-old. the first two sucked...but we have high standards. dr. honch meets them, though!
I also live in Mesa and have a wonderful pediatrician, but I'm not sure if he goes to Shea. His name is Dr. Sleder with East Valley Children's Center. Their address is 3200 South George Drive Tempe, AZ 85282. ###-###-####.
You are also able to have a hospital ped come and check the baby out if your ped doesn't go there. That's what I did. My OB also came and checked her out as well. Scottsdale Shea is very good about that. All I had to do was let them know that I had a new baby appt. set for my daughter soon after her release.

We love Scottsdale Children's Group on Shea & 74th Street. There are providers for Scottsdale Shea Hospital (my daughter was born there too). And we live in Chandler but still drive up to see there for our appointments.
All of the pediatricians are great but my son (3 years old) sees Dr. Burk and my daughter (9 months old) sees Dr. Kanagal (they are both females).

I delivered at Gilbert Mercy, but our pediatrician was not associated with that hospital. So instead of finding a new doctor, we just used the house pediatrician that was on staff and just made an appointment with our current pediatrician within a week after our daughter was born.
I'm assuming you already have a pediatrician with your son, so I'm not sure why you are being asked to find a pediatrician with privileges at Scottsdale Healthcare North. They should have one on staff. You should be able to use your own after your daughter is born.
I used to have United Insurance and was never required to have my pediatrician use the same hospital that I delivered in.
And just a note that is a great hospital if any complications arise. An old co-workers wife is the head nurse for the NICU. You will be in good hands.
North Scottsdale Pediatric Associates. All the docs are great there as well as the nurse practitioners. They have two office locations, one right by the hospital and the other in Grayhawk. I too have United Healthcare. Good luck. I think you will be happy there. Our doc is Dr. Vivian Ziltzer.
My kids went to Scottsdale Children's Group and saw Dr. Arturo Gonzalez for about 8 years. They are now too old to see him but I would highly recommend him. He is understanding, compassionate and proactive in health education of both the parents and children. I still remember when he actually took the time to speak with the kids about drugs and alcohol and his experience as a doctor in the ER.
