I have an almost 3 years old girl that loves water and this year we would like to put her in swim lessons (maybe a small group of 2-3 kids max). She goes to school twice a week so we can't put her in Oak Point Center in Plano since their classes are Mon-Fri).
We are in Plano and I would like to keep it around Plano. We don't have our own pool, so it has to be somebody that has a pool or we could meet a local community pool.
I have heard great things about this guy. I have not personally used him, but I know he has his own pool and does lessons there. I hear he is great w/the kids and this is who plan on calling. He is near or in Plano.

I would recommend Haley cell ###-###-####, she is getting married this weekend and will be on her honeymoon the following weekend. She used to work for my chiropractor and we will have our first lesson on the 19th of May for her. Her parents have a pool or she may suggest where you meet. I'm meeting at a girlfriend's pool in which 2 other kids will be joining us but I believe she does many one on one sessions and prefers weekdays.
I recommend Emler Swim School in Plano. They are amazing. My son is 4 and was very very scared of the water at the beginning of this semester and this past week - he swam across the pool. Their classes are never bigger than 4. We tried the private lessons last year with someone at our local pool and it did not work very well. My child seems to do better with the other kids around - good peer pressure! Emler is offering 2 week classes for the summer or you can do the summer semester where you go once a week. They offer classes year round since it is an indoor pool.

I'd recommend Swim Plus. Both my kids go there and their classes are never larger than 4, but usually only 2-3 kids. They have flexible classes. www.swimplus.com They are at Parker/Ave K in Plano
I recommend Infant Swimming Resource (ISR)- you can find them at infantswim.com. The teacher closest to you is Sheri Philips- she's great!
I would definitely stay away from Mr. "D"- we tried him last year (switched from Sheri only because Mr. D was closer to us and a man- my son prefers men) and he was horrible. The lessons are mostly the same as ISR (he used to be with ISR, but I think he got kicked out) but he pushes the kids too much. My son (at 18 months old) didn't get a chance to take a breath for 10 mins and after the lesson nearly passed out- his eyes were rolling back in his head! Mr. D is dangerous and I would recommend that no one go to him. I sent him an e-mail telling him all this and saying that we would not come back and he didn't even have the consideration of e-mailing me back. We returned to Sheri and were very happy that we did. She understands that every child is different and needs to be handled differently.
