I am having surgery in a few weeks. I am looking for some fun websites. I will be on complete bed rest for minimum of 2 weeks & cant do much of anything for a total of 6 weeks. So I need something to occupy my time. My hubby bought me a laptop as a pre-surgery gift so I want to utilize it. I am not an interent surfer because only because I am not good at it. So if anyone has some websites that they really like, of any kind, I would greatly appreciate some ideas to help occupy my time. Thanks

not looking for just games but also some fun websites like etsy, etc.

Sounds like you're getting a tummy tuck! Lucky you! (or not, if I'm totally wrong :)

I love www.thepioneerwoman.com, and www.clevergirlgoesblog.com is always fun for a little sarcasm. I also love etsy and other crafting sites.

Good luck and enjoy the down time!

My kids and I enjoy making personalized (free) word searches and crossword puzzles using our own lives as clues:

http://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com

Also, there is a site called Wordle where you type in words, poems, your kids names, etc and it makes pretty pictures with the words. You can change the colors and fonts. My kids get a kick out of doing that with me. here is the link:

Happy recovery!! Feel better soon!

I just had surgery. I don't have any websites, but this is a great time to catch up with all sorts of other things. Like doing Christmas cards early, writing actual notes to people you haven't seen in awhile, reading some books and watching some chick movies. Good luck on your surgery!~

If you enjoy sarcasm and a little bit of 'snark' try the following sites:

www.bestparentever.com (not for the faint of heart or for those who haven't the faintest clue of what sarcasm means)

www.failblog.com

www.cakewrecks.com

If you have digital photos you've been meaning to organize, upload them all to a site like Shutterfly. While you are recuperating, you can organize them for printing in books or upload them to (free) shared websites that are easy to set up.

You might use this time to update your photo albums, there's a great site that does this digitally! Check out http://www.scrapblog.com/

Hope you heal quickly! btw check out CoQ10 for healing, it's a powerful antioxidant that really shortened my mil's healing time after a really difficult foot surgery.

Excite.com has some games as do other sites. Zuma is fun, I play a lot of the word games too. It keeps your mind occupied longer. My husband just had surgery. Redbox was great. I rented a bunch of movies for $1 and then as he watched them I returned them. Lastly, watch some television shows you really like but have missed. Most of the stations have their past shows on the internet.

I love webcomics- my husband and I love xkcd.com and wetherobots It all depends on your sense of humor. I also love the tv episodes abc.com NBC.com etc. YouTube is also a blast. Just googling things is a great way to waste time- try your name and see where it takes you! Just take your time and check out everything that catches your eye on each page- tabbed browsing is the best! "Open in new tab" should be tattooed on my forehead...

www.pogo.com has some wonderful games for FREE... of course you can also pay to become a member and not have any ad interuptions and play some member exclusive games as well as earn badges and do weekly challenges- but for most it is fine to just have the free membership! With both free or paid you can play games with people and chat if you want also. There are games like Yahtzee, Monopoly, all kinds of solitaire games, poker, and a ton of others! Also, if you go to badgeaddicts.com they may have links to get a free 30 day membership or do a search for it... then you will get all the benefits as members do. I know I am addicted to this site- it is my destressor I pay for each year to keep my sanity! lol Check it out!!!

Good luck to you! I pray you have a safe and speedy recovery! Blessings!
