I live in Muskego and work in Wauwatosa. I am due in November and am looking for a great Pediatrican to go. I was advised to get a flu shot but I have not put any meds in my system during the entire pregnancy and I am not crazy about starting with a flu shot. Any ideas/thoughts on this? Please let em know.

What can I do next?

I did not get a flu shot when I was pregnant -- I don't react to them very well. Plus, you are so close to your due date I would think that you are okay without it. Just my opinion of course, but I don't like those shots!

I love our pediatrician -- at the Medical Associates center in Waukesha (Hwy J and I-94). They also have another location in Menomonee Falls that we used to go to before we moved to Pewaukee.

Good Luck -

Hi T.:

I love my pediatrician group: Southwest Pediatrics. I go to the New Berlin office near National & Moorland. I see Dr. Connie Ritcher. My husband and I prefer a natural approach to most things and we love the fact that she doesn't like to medicate unless necessary. They have later office hours and are available on Saturday for sick calls. Another bonus is that you can call anytime and they get back to you within 5 minutes.
Good luck in your search.

I've gotten the flu shot while I was pregnant both times. I didn't have any problems. However, I didn't have any problems taking meds while I was pregnant either (especially tylenol/allergy meds/prilosec)!! :o)
Everyone is different.

It is HIGHLY recommended to get the flu shot while pregnant because it will also protect the baby after it is born from the flu.

as for pediatrician we go to Dr. Robert Brueggemann on S. 7th st ###-###-#### by southridge. Gets right down on the floor to the child's level and actually speaks WITH them not at them.

I saw Dr Meyer at the office on Janesville and Mooreland. He has been an ob for over 30 years I think. I went to see him based on the referral of several friends.

I did get the flu shot but I always get it. Plus I didn't want to risk having the flu and not being able to take anything to relieve my discomfort. I did not have any problems with it. Of course each of us is different.
