Looing for a Treadmill

Hello Mommies,
I had to go back to work full time a few months ago, and have noticed an increase in my butt area and tummy bulge. The Mommy Guilt does not allow me to find time to head to the gym after work, so I am now looking for a treadmill to have at home so that at least I may work out once the kids go to sleep. Does anyone have any recommendations on a treadmill, not a manual one, that will not break my bank account? Please help my pants are getting more difficult to fasten every day:)

What can I do next?

I have a Gazelle (Tony Little's Gazelle) that I was thinking about selling. Let me know if you are interested......I'll have to ask my hubby about selling it because he sometimes still uses it, but I doubt we would ask more than $150 for it. You can add resistance on it and it gets to be a really good work out......I just got bored with it after 5 years. It's still in great condition and is better than the treadmill if you have knee problems because you don't have any impact.

Let me know if you are interested....you can email me at ____@____.com.

Hi G.,

We are selling our treadmill since we just joined a gym (need the childcare!). It is a Schwinn, and what I love is that it has a health club quality motor, as well as adjustable speed, incline, heartrate, 2 water bottle holders, etc. It is very durable has been PERFECT for the times I was able to work out at home. I paid $1100 new and I am asking $150 for it. I am close to the 281/1604 area. I recommend buying used b/c it allows you to see what you want without making a huge investment. (I bought my first one used) Please let me know if you are interested and congrats on starting a workout routine-definitely not an easy task for a mom!

I don't have a particular brand suggestion but Sports Authority, Big 5 and stores like that periodically have super deals on treadmills. That's how I bought mine, I got it for 1/2 price and paid around $350 for it. Make sure you get a good size tread, there are different lengths and widths.

From my personal experience a treadmill will not help with your belly fat. You will need a high protein diet along with exercise. If you follow a diet and do cardio workouts you will get better results.

Good luck,

I have a treadmill listed on craigslist for $250.00. It's a Pro Form and it's in great condition and it's a big one. I bought it a couple of years ago but it has been barely used. It has incline, monitors distance, speed, cals burned, etc...You can increase, decrease your speed for walking and running. It has two cup holders. I am selling ONLY because I don't have the room for it. Email me back if you are interested. I'm in the Porter/New Caney area.

If you don't want to spend money on something that everyone seems to want to get rid of, I go on YouTube and type in "aerobic exercise." I have found lots of fun workouts from jazz aerobics to simple abs workouts. Then I just do all the similar workouts. For example: type in beach bum warm up. You will see their workouts for abs, legs, etc. You can do them in any order, but be sure to always start with the warm ups and end with the cool downs.

Then always reward yourself with something non-fattening. That keeps me going.

My brother-in-law gave me his Horizon LS760T when he moved away last year. Took us 3 months to move it into the masterbed room from the garage and after one use, it is now used to hold my clothing! I am just too lazy and not motivated enough to workout at home by myself. My girlfriend and I just signed up for 24 hour fitness and been going at least 3 times a wk. Thus, I would like to get it out of the house. Email me ____@____.com if you are interested. It is listed as $600 but am willing to part w/ it for $200...or less. http://www.viewpoints.com/Horizon-LS760T-review-f166

About 2 months ago, we bought a Gold's Gym one from Walmart and I just love it! It is a great price for what you get. I haven't had any problems with it and I use it everyday, running and walking. Here is the link to the one I bought...http://www.walmart.com/ip/Golds-Gym-480-Treadmill/11993389.
The only problem was that they can't keep them in-stock...but, we ordered ours online and got free shipping by having it shipped to the store!

I was in the same situation. It's very hard to get in a walk/run while you're stuck in the house either in winter or summer! I bought a treadmill this winter off Craigslist.com. I think I saved several hundred dollars off a really nice and almost brand-new one. My advice is to do your research on how much any particular brand is when new and make sure you're getting and appropriate deal used. Good luck!
