Indoor Play Areas in South Denver?

Does anyone have any good suggestions for an indoor play area on the South metro side of town? We'd love a place to go during the cooler days (even though the days are getting warmer) but don't know of any. We'd especially like something for the weekends as I know some places are only open during the week.

What can I do next?

House of Bounce on Broadway is fun. Also, near the Tech Center is Monkey Bizness, which my kids LOVE. I hear Cherry Creek Mall's indoor play area is fun, although not as close possibly. I just took my 2 yr old to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts the other day - I know sounds odd, but she loved it - she can watch them make hte doughnuts through the window and was fascinated. And, they gave her a free doughnut!

If you are looking for something free, there's always Park Meadows mall! We look at the fountains, then head toward the end with the pet store. I always get suckered into holding a guinea pig for my son to pet. That end of the mall also has some metal animals and a sawhorse to climb and ride on.

If you are willing to drive a bit further, we love playing on the breakfast foods at Cherry Creek mall too.

Hi J.,
I know of a few places:

Monkey Business - between Dry Creek and Arapahoe on Easter
House of Bounce - in HR off Broadway
Pump it up - Parker

Hope that helps!

Monkey Bizness is in Centennial and is a lot of fun; they are open weekdays and weekends. Weekends they have a lot of parties scheduled, so I am not sure if they have open play time on the weekends. They do have a family night once a week. Here is the website:

House of Bounce is a good option for an active toddler. You pay $5 for the child (you and husband are free), and can spend an hour or two playing. You can also bring your lunch and eat in their lunchroom. We love it on the cold days, but it can get pretty busy. (Behind the Wendy's near Broadway and Mineral)

Another option is checking out Goodson Rec Center. They have gymnastics classes, swim classes, music classes, and art opportunities for your little one. Check out South Suburban Rec Center website for further details.

The Keobel library also is a good option for indoor time, but my 2 year old son has a hard time being quiet...

A few others to think about could be Monkey Business (off of Arapahoe and I-25), and further down (east) Arapahoe on Peoria is Family Fun Center - that place has all kinds of things to do - it's a rec center but open to anyone. The last time I was there, they had indoor rides and putt putt golf, etc. Give each place a call and see what they have to offer!

My Gym is on County Line and Broadway - call ahead for open gym times.

Hi J. - the bouncy house places are good as is the mall. We've gone to Cherry Creek Mall several times. We also go to Gymboree during their open playtime. We've had a lot of fun going to Lifetime Fitness in Parker and letting the kids run or play ball on the indoor soccer field. It's usually open during the day but on the weekends it might be booked. I heard there is a Lifetime Fitness opening in Lone Tree. You might also try your local rec. center.

There is a fun kids area at Wilderness Experience - they often have special activities days on the weekends. The Butterfly Pavillion is fun but it's near Boulder. There is always Ocean Journey or the Children's Museum downtown. You might also consider the zoo, even on some of the cold days. The animals are more active on cooler days. We spend a little time outside and then when we get too cold we hang out at Tropical Discovery. We've also explored the museum of natural history and the art museum. Even the younger ones enjoyed themselves.

Hope that helps to give you some ideas!

lol...I'm waiting for responses, too! I live in Highlands Ranch so it's not far from you. The only places I know beyond McDonalds or whatever fast food joint you can find cost money...House of Bounce, Jungle Quest...things like that. And even those may be a bit more south than what you are looking for. They are located in Littleton on Broadway just north of County Line, not too far from Centennial. Oh, and Fat City over off Wadsworth...of course, that's not really close to me or you.

J.,

Try Monkey Buziness (http://www.monkeybizness.com/). It's near I-25 and Arapahoe Road.

Also, Family Sports (off of Arapahoe Road and Peoria) has amusement rides, games, etc. and is run by South Suburban Parks and Rec.

Good luck!
