My main concern is not being able to experience the beauty of delivering a baby natural for the first time. I have been doing some research on this topic and have not found an answer that explains to me why is it so difficult to find the right doctor or practice. Most people would not feel comfortable with a midwife. So my question is it possible to have a VBAC birth after two csections in a hospital?
They are saying now that you can do a VBAC after 2 c-sections. My best guess would be to find a practice that has both docs and midwives. If you want more specific info, I could get you in touch with a friend who knows more about it, than I do.

Hi E., I completely understand and support your desire to try for a vaginal delivery, even though of course we all know that any way our children come to us is just fine!! I know that most doctors just automatically resist taking VBAC's on due to issues that are not necessarily related to your and the baby's safety. I don't think we can simply defer to doctors and assume "they know best" but need to be involved and educated.. I highly recommend reading books on VBAC (there a a number of good ones) and getting informed, and persisting in finding a doctor/midwife who is supportive of you and feels like a good, safe fit. I have friends who had VBAC's and know it is very very possible. Natural Resources might be a good place to find some local resources or referrals in San Francisco. It is on Valencia Street. I don't have personal experience with them but have heard good things about the place. Their website lists many practitioners that might be able to point you in a good direction-maybe even a doula who has experience with this situation would be a good idea for you as well.. all the best to you!
E.,This is not your FIRST experience, for this time or for that matter, beauty is not the word that will come to mind when you are pushing and it is not going the way it should.
You should trust your doctor and when you don't get a 2nd opinion or 3rd (if you wish)..but after two children, if you have stayed with the same doc, I suspect he/she has your best interest in mind!

It is possible to have a VBAC after c-section but the risks of complications are higher. Most doctors and hospitals do not want to incurr the increased insurance costs or risk lawsuits due to providing VBACS. Uterine tissue is cut during a c-section and scars over when it heals. This scar tissue is not as strong or as elastic as regular uterine tissue and does not stand up to the stress of pushing during vaginal delivery as well. Should there be a rupture of uterine tissue, this will cause significant potential risk to the health of the baby and the mother. Midwives are not able to handle this type of situation and a critical delay in care would happen while waiting for a surgeon to arrive (even if he's on site somewhere at the same hospital). This is why midwives will almost never take a VBAC case. Search long and hard for a facility and dr that will do VBACS if it is that important to you. But remember, you are a mother no matter if by vaginal delivery, by c-section, or by adoption. BECOMING A MOTHER is the important issue - not the MANNER IN WHICH you become one. I think it really depends n your hospital and Dr. Also how long ago your C-Section was and what kind you had.
I have 4 kids my first and third are C-Section and my 2nd and 4th are Vbac. My Dr. was in favor of it but the Dr. at the hospital when I delivered thought I should have been C-section.
I had two c-sections because I could not deliver naturally as my inner bone structure was too small. You should check with your OB doctor because your reason(s) for c-sections may have been the size of the baby or long labor or? I felt the same way you did, but unfortunately I was the person that back in the old days would have died trying natural child birth.

I had four c-sects and not by choice. The first one, they told me he was just too big and I would more than likely be able to have a natural birth for the next one. After my second, they told me it would never be possible for me to have a baby naturally and to always plan on having a c-section. I asked them why and their reason was it cuz my insides were too small for a baby to pass thru. I am not a small petite by any means any where on my body, but the insides pelvic area aren't made for a baby to pass thru on me.
I know exactly what you mean when you say you want to have that experience, I cried my eyes out when they told me that. Also if you do try for the VBAC again, there's nothing wrong with a mid-wife. You will find that they are a lot more personable, and there for YOU. Dr.'s will often come in right at the end to deliver the baby and then they're gone.
