Have you ever looked on Freecycle.org? People donate their things for free - this is from the website "The Freecycle Network™ is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns."

Check them out.

There is a thrift shop on Fowler right at I275 (where the Pier 1 outlet used to be) that has some reasonably priced used furniture.

I have found lots of cheap but nice furniture at yard sales, and have even gotten some good free stuff (a chair, a desk, an end table, a nightstand, 4 dining table chairs) from people's trash. It's amazing what people put at the curb!

Good luck.

Watch the flyer for sales. Most people put a price but are very willing to go down on it if you make them an offer. If you go to a consignment shop you will end up paying double what it is worth before you are done. It wouldn't hurt to even list on here what you are looking for. Good luck in finding what you want.

try looking in your phone book under consignment. Also try looking for thrift stores. When I lived near Tampa, St. Petersburg, about 9 years ago, I bought several pieces of furniture from a large Goodwill in Tampa. I do not know if it is still there. Good Luck and Happ shopping. You may want to try looking under estate sales as well. We have some resale stores here that call themselves estate sales stores.
