Dollar Tree Pregnancy Test

How accurate are the Dollar Tree pregnancy tests? I have never gotten a positive from these tests and I have taken a lot of them. I have only ever gotten positives from the more expensive tests from Wal-Mart and Target. Granted, I have never taken one expensive test and one DT test at the same time to make sure they both came out positive. I am going on 4 days late (31 days since last menstrual and 18 days since ovulation) and my cycle is always very regular. The test I took tonight was negative so I don't know what to think. Either the DT tests are not very good or something is really wrong with my cycle....? Have these tests been accurate for you?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

For Wendy's information... I take so many tests because we are trying to get pregnant and, in addition to my miscarriage, I've had an internally bleeding ectopic pregnancy that nearly burst because nobody would believe me. It wasn't until the doctor cut me open, because my husband and I insisted, that he believed I had an ectopic. My left tube was removed because it was so damaged. I now have to be monitored closely the second I find out I am pregnant. Please... that comment was very upsetting to me for I lost that ectopic baby 2 months in THIS year. Please do not make comments you have no clue about. And, thank you to everyone else being so helpful.

UPDATED: I accept your apology, Wendy. Thank you.

Not at all!!!! I took 3, all were negative. I just knew I was. Went & got an EPT, the same day, & it was as positive as it could be!! I will be having my baby this Friday.

I believe it is the same technology testing the same hormone - the only thing that makes the more expensive tests more expensive is the convenience (the stick method versus the cup method).

I have used the dollar store ones and the expensive digital ones and both were accurate for me. In fact, my doctor told me the pregnancy test strips they use in the office are the same as the dollar store ones.

Took several from the dollar store....had to wait longer to see a positive result (weren't as early-detecting as some of the others) but got a positive result nonetheless!

Dollar Tree test all worked for me, i took a total of 3. One in the evening- positive. One in the morning- positive. Then one right after all were positive. I still didn't believe it and had Kaiser do a blood test (cant go wrong with blood right). And the test were correct- 14 months later I have a son.

Blessing to you and your family. And I will pray for good results for you <3

Check out www.peeonastick.com. They list the manufacturer brands- I think DT is Iverness. They are considered to be as good as any others!

The DT test strips have correctly registered positive for 2 pregnancies for my daughter.

I suggest that you may have tested too early or that your cycle isn't exactly on time. It's very rare for a woman to always, 100% of the time be precise. If you're anxious about getting pregnant that in itself can throw off your schedule.

I had 2 DT tests come out positive when I was 4 days late. Use your first urine of the day to test, as it has the highest concentration of HCG in it.

The pregnancy test I purchased from the Dollar Tree didn't register anything. I took 2 tests.
The expensive one I purchased at Wal-mart the next day registered I was definitely pregnant . (yay me). :)
I suggest you go buy one at the local Wal-Greens and spend the money on the test. It's worth it.

I have had friends tell me to get the ones from the Dollar Tree because they work just as well as the "name brand" ones. I had a friend who got positives from them with atleast the last three kiddos. The ones that I took have been negative - just because it "was" negative.

DT are the only test that ever told me I was preggos with my three kids. The same test they use at Planned parenthood and alike places. Reasearch them online there are some great sites the DT store ones are even better then some of the more expensive ones as far as telling sooner. There is a great site out there for it altough I don't have it but just google pregnancy test accuracy and it should pop up

They have always worked awesome, for me! I got positives a few days before my period. In fact, EPT and Clear Blue easy measure as little as 25 mIU of the pregnancy hormone, which is the same as the Dollar Tree test.

I too at once questioned how accurate Dollar Tree tests were. But I've come to the conclusion when your pregnant your pregnant..lol. I say this because some tests say you should take it in the morning,..etc. That may be true depending on how early you take it. With my second pregnancy I was 4 weeks pregnant (didn't know it) and it stated it was postive and I took it in the afternoon. So I do think Dollar Tree ones are just fine. Good Luck to you!!

As long as the expiration date on them is good, they should work. I took multiple tests when I was pregnant, 3 of them coming from the dollar store...all were positive. =)
(And yes....I took a bunch of tests, I wanted to be sure LOL)

I've used Dollar tree's test and they were accurate for me. In my opinion, they work just as well as the more expensive PG tests

I know this is a very old question, but I just wanted to share anyhow. I love dollar tree tests. I got a positive literally two weeks after conception, and went and bought two more and took them just to make sure. So, all in all, I spent 3 dollars (and 21 cents tax) and every one was accurate! :)
