Disneyland/DIsneyworld Or Legoland?

I have only been to Disneyland out of htese choices. I think it really depends on how much you want to spend and how much time you have. I heard Disney World you need atleast 5 days to get most of the park. WHile Disneyland one or two days is perfect. Leogland might be a little young for them from what I have heard. Disneyworld, because there are 4 Disney parks in Florida: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. Each park has its own personality and there are lots of things to do at each one.

We have been to Disneyland a few times and it was great fun. Something for every age and just enough to do that you can get it all done in two or three days, but you could stay longer and do other things like California Adventure and Universal Studios or Warner Brothers.

I've never been to Disney Land, but have been to Disney World three times. At 5, 21 and 30 years old. I took my 4 y/o old to Disney World on this last trip and had the most amazing time ever! There is a LegoLand near Disney World but it is nothing more than some INCREDIBLE pieces of art (statues, pictures, and GIANT dragons and so forth). It's nothing like the LegoLand in Chicago. That one is AWESOME!!! They have rides, ineractive play and lots more. I heard that they are in the works of making a bigger and better LegoLand near Disney World, but I'm not sure when it will be complete. My vote would be Disney World for sure!

We have been to all three and Disneyworld is by far the best. You really feel like you are on vacation especially if you stay on property. Everything seems magical. Your boys will probably love Epcot. You are right in the fact that Legoland is geared towards younger kids. We only spent 5 hours there and did everything. Our child was 3 at the time. good luck!

I have been to all three.....Disneyworld was my favorite in terms of things to do for everyone and there is so much there.....Disneyland is great but not quite as large (as I remember it) but still very nice and loved the trip. I have actually been to both numerous times........but LEGOLAND rocks, especially for a nine and twelve year old. The rides are not as grand as Disneyland or World but it is an amazing place and both my girls who were not into legos really loved it!!! If you can find a deal you could do Disneyworld and Legoland in one trip.....Stay somewhere in between... The Disney parks wont lose their allure and an older child would enjoy both those parks......at your kids age......I vote Lego!!!!!! Hope that helps!!! I love them all. Legoland was great but it is DEFINITELY geared toward smaller kids. We had a fun time but they were all under 9 at the time. If your kids don't like the big rides then they would like Legoland but all the rides are geared toward younger kids. The displays are AWESOME though! Everything is made out of legos and the exhibits are cool - they have a while "world" set up of different famous places and it is amazing! Disneyland is smaller but fun. We loved Californa Adventure! DisneyWorld is giant and you need to decide what you are going to go to and what you aren't. We also LOVE Universal Studios Florida! 2 parks - smaller but cool rides - look them up online -- they have Shrek rides, Men in Black all kinds of things older kids would like. Their roller coasters are better than Disney and the 3D/4D rides are pretty darn cool! Good luck!

I think you'd be much happier at one of the Disney resorts. They are so much fun and there is a lot more to do than at Legoland, especially for kids as old as your sons.

I live very close to Disneyland and I love it. I went 1-2 times per year as a kid all through high school. This past year, when my son was 2, we had season passes. I've never been to Disneyworld though, so I can't compare.

If you choose Disneyland and you come for an extended vacation, you COULD take one day to drive down to Legoland. The drive is about 80 miles, so you can definitely make a day trip down there if you want.

Disney World... If your little guys love legos, there is a legoland store at WDW and some amazing displays...

I live right down the road from legoland and go there all the time. It is very much geared towards younger children. I personally think that you would be disappointed. IMO..it is way over priced for what you are getting out of it. I have a season pass which is the price as if you were to pay for 2 tickets if I didn't have pass we would never go. My son is 3 and has a great time. Also if you do decide to go make sure you check there calendar becasue they are closed certain days during the winter months.

If I were planning your trip I would go to Disneyworld!

It really depends on your kids. My two boys LOVED Legoland and we took them when they were about that same age. They love Legos and my older son is a collector. My boys HATE to wait in line and are not that crazy about rides, even afraid of the big rollercoasters. We went in July and it was not that horribly crowded. My older son would have stayed and just built legos all day if we had let him. My kids have had no desire to go to Disney, but even now several years later they have asked to go to Legoland again.

But if your kids are like most kids their ages, they would probably be more impressed with Disney. We also went to Sea World, which is not that far from Legoland. Go online to the Legoland website to look for discounts.

We took our two little ones, 3 and 1, to legoland which both, my husband and I, agreed that they are still too young for the park. But I do believe yours sons will get bored very easy at legoland. They do have several rides for 4/5 years old, but nothing really for a little bit older kids...

I've been to all three, two of them with my daughter. (The Disneyland visit was right after high school for me, so I'm out of date with that park!) My vote goes for Disneyworld. It's bigger and has more choices. My family has been there several times and we've always had a great time.

We took my then 8-year-old daughter to Legoland and frankly she was almost too old for the park. It's really geared for the preschool set. She was already too big for a couple of the rides. We still had a nice day, but more than a day she would have been bored.

Love love love Disneyworld. The park has so much to do for kids of all ages. There are four parks to attend, so allow time for all parks. We spend one day at each park and we didn't cover half of it. Go at Christmas time when it is cooler and lines are smaller. Plus you get to see all the parks decorated in Christmas. What a wonderful site!! Have fun!!

We've taken our girls to Disneyworld a couple of times and it really is great and you need several days to cover everything. And Universal Studios Orlando isn't that far away and if your boys like awesome amusement rides then you may want to put aside a day for that as well. We are thinking of taking a family trip to Disneyland next year. I have heard that it isn't as good as Disneyworld because it's smaller, but we really want to see the original park. Plus there may be opportunities to do other things in the area.

We just returned from Walt Disney World last night! My kids are 11, 10, and 8 and they LOVE WDW! I have been to Disneyland twice but never Legoland. I see you live in TX, but I am not familiar with where your town is located. Would you be driving or flying? Certainly distance and transportation would be an issue.
We live in SC so we make annual pilgrimages to WDW in FL. I enjoyed my visits to Disneyland, but considering the distance we have not been as a family. We drive to FL.
WDW is much larger than Disneyland. You can spend 2 days in Disneyland and see and do it all. WDW has 4 major parks, which will pretty much take at least one day apiece to do. Plus there are 2 water parks and Downtown Disney, which is a huge shopping complex. And there is a big Lego store there! They even have bins of individual bricks which you can fill your own tub for purchase. (My son is in Heaven here!)
We went to WDW the first week in December a few years ago. It was wonderful! The FL heat had subsided some. There were no crowds at all and the parks were decorated for Christmas. I have heard from friends that actually going at Christmas is insane. They often close Magic Kingdom on Christmas because it quickly reaches capacity.
Whatever you decide have a great trip!

I grew up going to Disneyland/Californialand and it is nice...took my grand daughter there last summer and again this summer. Have never been to Legoland.

BUT! Disneyworld has ALWAYS (at least 7 times) left us with wonderful memories and great times. We took our grand daughter to Disneyworld when she was 3 and 4 and my husband and I still talk about the great time we had. There is such a variety of things to do at all the parks and if you stay on property, you don't have to worry about driving home at night; just get on a bus and relax.

Do not miss the Character Breakfast at the Contemporary. We LOVED that.

I have boys who are now 10 & 14, and we have been to both Legoland and Disney World (Disney World is much better than Disneyland based on my research) within the last couple of years. They are very different places. Disney is very commercial, intense rides, latest technology, lots of hype, and Legoland is much more laid back, kid-driven, an open to more creative thinking. Both of my boys loved both places. If you go to Disney, get a park hopper pass and visit all of the parks and that will keep you entertained for the whole trip, albeit expensive. If you go to Legoland, one day there is probably sufficient, but Sea World is closeby and worth the trip. The San Diego zoo is also one of the best in the world and worth the trip. We also visited the aircraft carrier, Midway, and my boys loved it! Of course, the other big difference is that Disney World is in Florida (Nov. or Dec. is a good time to go because it's not so hot, but it may rain) and Legoland is in California where the weather is always pretty mild. I think you won't go wrong at either place. Have fun!

We went to Disneyland this summer and personally, I really prefer Disney World. My kids have not been to Disney World yet, but I have been several times over the years and really love it. We did California Adventure and Disneyland this summer and the kids loved it, but I thought it was a bit small and underrated. Disney World is much larger and I feel like you just have more room to breathe there.

We have not done Legoland. My friend has a 6 year old boy and he absolutely loved it this past summer.

I think your boys will be disappointed with Legoland. If you do Disneyland, make sure you do California Adventure too. Our son was 5 when we took him to Disneyland, California Adventure and Legoland last year. He had a great time, but he's 5. I think either Disneyworld or Disneyland would be great for your boys.
