Diaper Bag and a Purse?

Moms do you ever take your purse anymore?
I didn't when my baby was an infant. Just the diaper bag.
Now that he's older I use a backpack purse and we don't take a diaper bag (he's 2).
But I have a cute new big purse I want to use but it's not as convenient.
Backpack purse doesn't fit in the big purse.
I currently have ony used my cute new purse twice for lunch w/girlfriends. I never go out much
w/o my baby. Should I try to use it? I like hands free w/the backpack but I like my new purse.
I know...not a big dilemna but you moms always give a great perspective. (purse-spective ha ha)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks again mamas. You are brilliant!
I am going to keep my backpack purse (don't worry it's cute and not a school back pack. lol) in the trunk if I need it.
I like the hands free part of it like if we are going to the zoo or amusement park.
Then since my child is 2 1/2, I am going to try using my cute big purse keeping a few diapers/wipes in a school pencil bag in there.
In trunk I have, change of clothes, toys, sand/park shovels and pails, lots of extra diapers/wipes, changing pad etc.).

I have always carried both. There is always the chance that something will spill or leak in the diaper bag (juice, formula, milk) and I didnt want to worry about getting it on the things in my wallet. Also at one point (I think around 10mnths) there was not enough room for both my things and his things. my son is almost two and we still carry the diaper bad...he has a lot of things lol! diapers, wipes, a sippy cup for water, books to entertain him in the car, an extra change of clothes (because if we dont bring it will need it. There have been several quick trips to my mom where he has leaked through his diaper and went home wearing one of my sisters tee shirts) and sometimes a small snack depending on how long we will be out.

I rarely used a diaper bag. I actually bought a Vera Bradley insulated lunch bag and used that because it is relatively small but could hold a bottle, a pack of wipes, two diapers, a bib when he was a baby and now a sippy cup, wipes/diapers, bib, and a zip top back of Cheerios.

Wipes in every room and the cars. Change of clothes in the cars, school, grandparents house, or wherever. Lol. I was sick of a diaper bag after the first child. I carried one less with my second.

With a big purse, you can carry the few things you need. :)

I am a huge fan of the Miche big bag. you can change out the outside of the bag and the stuff inside stays the same. They have a couple of diaper bag options too! They are a bit pricey, if you aren't into expensive purses, but sooo worth it!

I never used a purse...I'm just not that kind of woman I guess. I always had a cute wallet but that's it. Now, I stick my wallet in the diaper bag. Anyway, try out using your cute new purse and see if it drives you crazy carrying yet one more thing or not! :)

Except for when my kids were infants, I've never used a diaper bag. I always use a big purse and throw a few diapers in there. Wipes go into a small ziploc bag. I've always thought diaper bags were WAY more trouble than they were worth!

Put a few diapers and a few wipes in a Ziploc bag in the purse. That shouldn't take up a ton of room and you should still be able to carry your fun new purse :D

I'm currently transitioning from ginormous diaper bag to medium purse. I feel like a human and not like a pack mule :D

AHHH PUN, HAHAHA! That was a good one ;)

I use more purse more often than I use the diaper bag. It's big enough to throw ONE diaper and a compact thing of wipees in, babys juice cup, then all my stuff. It's not huge, but those things fit comfortably. Anytime I'll be gone for more than an hour or two, I'll use the diaper bag (which really IS a giant, oversized purse)

i just keep the diapering stuff in the car and use my regular purse now, which is pretty big to hold some of the kids stuff.

I bought a Nine West black leather "tote" style bag. It has sleek cup holders on either end, a zipper middle that I use as my "purse" and then either side can be filled with a couple of diapers, pkg of wipes, etc.

I don't use it daily, but I do when I don't want to look like I'm carrying a diaper bag.

Otherwise, I leave my purse in the car, bring the diaper bag backpack with me (since I need to carry an EpiPen at all times) and just move my wallet between the two.

When mine got to be that age I just used my purse, no diaper bag. I found this fold up thingy that rolls out into a changing pad and has little pockets so I would just keep that in the car with a couple diapers and wipees.

When the kids were toddlers I just used a big purse and stuffed two diapers and a little travel-size pack of wipes, and some snacks in there. I kept anything else I needed (like a change of clothes or something) in the car. Now that your little one is older, I think it'll be easier to use your new purse, and since you spent the money on the purse and you love it, I think you should use it! :-)

I can't stand having lots of bags to keep track of. I have a 3 month old and I'm so tired most days I'm lucky to be able to keep track of the baby!! (just kidding, she's always on my radar!)

I only use one bag. Day to day I use the diaper bag and just put my stuff in one of the pockets for quick access. When we go to dinner or meeting people, I use a big, but cute, purse and stick the baby's stuff in there.

I have all my stuff and the baby's stuff streamlined and organized (it's worth it to take the time and money to organize things for quick back and forth changing of the bags) so all I do is grab everything and drop it in the bag I am changing to.

I always take my purse with me, but I am used to it because I carry only my purse to work - no diaper bag.

When we go out with the baby, I take both my purse and diaper bag. On occassion, I will throw what I need from my purse in my diaper bag, but I usually regret it because I end up needing something that is in my purse that I didn't bring with me.

I have far too much stuff going on to combine purse and diaper bag. I know I am probably in the minority! I like the separation! I have my stuff in my purse (lip gloss, checkbook, wallet, snacks for older kids, ins cards, 2 cells (work and personal) etc....too much to stick in the diaper bag and keep track of. Baby has his things, mama has hers! Plus, both my diaper bag and purse are super cute and pricey, so I will carry both darn it!

Pursepective is funny.
