Church Time Conflicts with Daughter's Naptime

This week, the time I go to church has changed from 11 AM-2 PM to 1 PM-4 PM. My daughter's naptime is around 2 PM. And I was curious how anybody else dealt with this? My daughter has complete melt-downs if she doesn't get her nap. And putting her to sleep for the night on a day that she misses her nap is like going through he#$. I try to not miss her nap. The only other option I can think of is one of us stay home with her while the other goes to church. I just am curious how to get through this year, and I know I am not the only one to have this problem. Thanks for the help.

What can I do next?

Ugh, we have the same time change this year! They should have an option for young families to go to whichever ward fits their kids' naptimes . . . lol. My husband and I are going to try putting our twins (just turned 2) down at about 11 on Sundays and get them up at about 12:30 in time to get dressed and eat a quick lunch. My son won't have a problem with going down that early (they usually go down around 12:30-1) since he can sleep just about any time, any where. Yesterday my daughter didn't go to sleep when we put her down, and rather than fight over it and ruin the Sunday spirit, we got her up and she crashed after we got home from church. We'll try putting her down early again next week and see how it goes. She may just end up napping when we get home, or not napping on Sundays. So I guess I'm saying, try putting her down early just on Sundays, my mom swears kids can adjust to having one day that different from the rest of the week and be just fine. I'll keep you and all other church-going moms of toddlers in my prayers, and good luck to us all!

Become inactive and start drinking beer- that's what I did! JUST KIDDING! Yeah, there's no good solution for that problem. I would say let her sleep in your arms during church, if she'll fall asleep.

You can start trying to change her nap schedule by having it 15 minutes earlier each day until you have her going down early enough for you to get to church. At my church a lot of kids wind up sleeping on the floor on a blanket. Their parents just bring whatever lovey is needed for sleeping and the kids nap at church. Or you could always go to the church services that better fit your schedule. But, it seems sad for each of you to miss half a year of church over naptime.
