J.,

What precent body fat are you? If you are in the upper teens and higher then it is diet and excercise. My girlfriend was 12% body fat and had a huge flappy belly. She got really big when she was preggers. She stretched all her elastin and fibers in her muscles/tissue. Her dr told her the only way that she could get rid of her belly is a tummy tuck. When she has a bikini on she is tone all over! She has rock hard
abs, but her skin hangs.

If you have honestly tried to diet and exercise (and both at the same time) I would consider seeing a doctor. I'll be honest in saying that this isn't a problem for me - I suppose I have good genes, but it is a problem for a lot of women in my family (my mom's side). For them, they say they have tried it all, but I see how they eat, drink, etc.

I believe you when you say you have tried, so maybe there is another underlying problem that needs to be addressed. I am not sure where you live, but there is a Dr. out in Wesley Chapel (56 & Bruce B Downs - next to Bonefish) by the name of Dr. Foreman. He owns New Tampa Urgent Care, but he also does weight management at his office. I have heard good things about his program (again, never used it) and I do know him as a Dr. I have been seeing him for many years now - even for my children when their pediatrician isn't open. He might be able to help you on both a medical and weight management basis.

Good luck and remember that it is what is in our heart that makes us confident in ourselves! Hold your head up high and focus on your confidence as a good wife, good mother, and a GREAT person!

Sam

My doctor put me on a diabetic diet, even though I am not diabetic. I have lost almost 30 pounds now. I am just starting to lose it in my belly. You have to stick to something and make it a life change of eating habits, not a temp diet. Also exercise. I don't do as much as I should but I walk and push the mower instead using the rider. I park far out in the parking lot at the stores and walk further. I dance around the house a lot. The twist is great stomach flattening exercise and fun to do. My daughters got me core for Christmas. It's ok but more fun to have someone to do it with. I do Richard Simmons from time to time. Some days I just flat out don't exercise at all. But I am still getting in shape. I am never hungry. I was at first but once you are at it awhile that changes. I feel better and people are telling me I look great. If you want to know more about the change in eating habits let me know. I will be glad to share.

Hi J.,
You dont mention your age hon,
so I'm just gonna toss this out there anyway.
If you are a young mom,
who too well recalls her prebaby belly
as that of a teenager,
let it go.

You are a woman.

Those curves were well earned!

(though for some, they never will get over
becoming sexy voluptuous women)

If, as some ladies mentioned, it's fibroids,
then a dermally applied natural progesterone cream
(its far more effective than orally administered progesterone) helps many of women to re-calibrate hormone balance effectively.

There's alot to learn about hormone imbalance
often exhibited as something called
Estrogen Dominance, which has more than 80 symptoms,
including fibroids and unexplained weight issues.
Pick up any book written by Dr John Lee
to see what I'm talking about. (even if the titles seem off topic, they are all a wealth of info about Estrogen Dominance and filled with amazing information).

The goddess is beautiful in all of her forms
(and this includes you).

Have you been back to your GYN? You would want to rule out fibroids which can make your belly look as though you are pregnant.

I would also say you should talk to your doctor about it. I hold all my weight in my belly. I have been actively loosing weight after my second child and have lost 27 pounds so far. My belly is still bigger than I like, but it has gone down a lot because of my cardio and ab exercise. You say you tried, but have you really stuck with anything? It will go down if you loose weight unless there is a medical problem causing it. They actually have you loose weight before doing lipo anyway, they can only do so much. If you are at your healthy body weight, then talk to your doc. Good luck! I hate having my weight there because it is the absolute LAST place it comes off. Even if I loose 15 more pounds, I know I will probably never have a flat belly like I would want! Frustrating!

Have you gone to the doctor for a thyroid test? My sister in law had a thyroid problem after her baby was born but it was the opposite- she couldn't gain weight! She said there were was also another kind that kept it from being lost...

Just a thought! Good luck!

You don't need lipo, you need a change in lifestyle. I'm a weight loss coach, and I'd be happy to answer any questions or give you more specific tips without any expectations that you would become a client. You can check me out on my website at moreislessdiet.com. B.

Definitely have a physical done. Thyroid issues go undiagnosed all the time. Make sure your doctor tests for this.
As for diet & exercise...cardio cardio cardio. Cut out all soda, even diet & drink lots of water.
Good luck!

Hey J.,

Look into Restore The Core (RTC). Great program designed, by a fitness professional specializing in postnatal fitness and an OB. It specifically addresses the anatomical changes women experience during and after pregnancy
