Baby Monitor for Multi-level Home

We have the In Touch monitor by Phillips. It is hard to find but Right Start does carry them. when I researched it, we bought it for the range and we have been very pleased with it.

Hmmm. I was going to suggest the Sony BabyCall Nursery Monitor 27 Channel because we have it and ours works great between the 2d floor and the basement. But you said above you have the BabyCall so if nots the exact same one or if you have a different frequency, I'd recommend the 27 Channel.

We purchased a Safety First Monitor. It comes with 3 bases and two speakers (handsets). The great part about this one is that if you have your baby in more than one room from time to time, you can choose which base to listen to. When you have more than one child it is one of the only monitors that you can listen to multiple rooms (children) with the same handset. It scans all three rooms or bases. We love it and we have 4 levels and it works on all of them.

I have one from Summer, it is a video baby monitor. It works really well. Research them on line, they always tell how far od a distance they will work at.

Wow, $200 for a baby monitor! I have a wireless router, a 2 cordless phones and use my baby monitor between my baby's room and the basement and have no problems and I paid a whole lot less than $200. I have a Fisher Price monitor I think it is called the Sounds and Light Monitor, but it is an older version that what is at Target now. I think I paid $20 or $25 for it at Sears and that was for the more expensive version that came with 2 receivers. We liked it because it came with 2 receivers and because the receivers work on batteries or can be plugged in. My daughter is 5 1/2 months old and we have been using it since she was born and love it.

We live in a townhouse that has 5 (count 'em 5) levels and our Evenflo Whisper Connect works great. Our son's room is on the top floor and we can hear well on the monitor no matter what level we're on. Sometimes it's a little staticky, but that might be interference from our neighbor's monitor. It's not expensive, either. I think it was about $35.

Hi! I asked a lot about this myself since I am in a multi-unit building and I was told wireless internet can add to interference too - which we have. The best one for reach and interference issues I was told is the Philips LCD DECT Digital Baby Monitor. It is pricey - around $199, but its on sale at Target right now for $179. I still haven't tried it out, but I am registered for it based on multiple recommendations.

The reception and range on this were phenomenal. I was able to walk my dog a block away and still hear the baby in the crib. Also, the ability to utilize the lullaby mode while away from the baby by remote also is helpful to show that the remote is working (if you can hear the lullaby you can hear the baby). The problem was, that Phillips customer service is useless. When I needed a replacement part they didn't have the capability of helping me. Thus you pay alot for this item but if you need to repair it you are out of luck. Still if you never need repair it is a great unit.
