Baby Hair Cuts

I live in Bolingbrook and was looking for a place to take my son for his first haircut. He is 14 months old and his hair is looking a little shaggy. I tried to look for kid haircutting places online and the closest I found was in Yorktown. I tried to search on here and the only places I found were adult salons.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for all the input on the haircutting places. I ended up going on Saturday morning to a place called Kid Cuts, which is on Maple Avenue in Downers Grove (near the ice arena). The woman there was really nice and got us in even though we were late for our appointment. I was shocked that the haircut cost $20.00. I don't even pay that much to get my own hair cut, but it was worth it because his hair looks great. I will check out the other places mentioned next time, but I am hoping that it takes awhile for his hair to grow. Thanks again!

I know this may not be much help but in Rt 59 there is place that is called cookie cutters maybe...I really can not think of the name off the top of my head. It is 95th and Rt 59 though. It is in the strip mall with the movie theater and Johnny Rockets.

There are numerous Cookie Cutters around...downtown Naperville and one on 59 and 75th. They can watch their favorite movie while getting their haircut...it really helps!

A.,
It has been a while since I have worked in the shopping plaza in Woodridge at 75th and Woodward but they used to have a kids hair salon in there. If you are in the area you might want to swing by and look. It used to be at the end of the plaza by the Max and Erma's not in the section with the new JcPenny's. Good luck.

A., there is a child hair cutting place on Route 59 right by the new movie theater at 95th. I do not remember the name but it is in the shops in front of the movie theater.

I take my daughter to kid snips in Naperville, on rte 59 near 103rd. they are a little pricier for a kid cut $16, but they know what they are doing & put in a movie, have bubbles... anything to keep the kid from having a melt down.

There is a Cookie Cutters in Downtown Naperville on Washington St. They have the cars to sit in and kid DVDs to play to distract kids to keep them still. They are quick and nice. There is also a fun slide in the salon for older kids to play on while they wait. My son, who is very squirmy, loves this place for hair cuts. I think your 14 month old could be very please to have a first cut here. Hope this helps!

There are a few in Naperville, I think it is call Cookie cutters or something like that, one is in Downtown Naperville and the other is off RT. 59 right past Diehl road on the right in the White hen plaza. I haven't personally gone there, my son had had 8 haircuts and he is only 22 months old, his hairs grows really fast. We just go to fantastic sams or hair cuttery. They do a good job and are cheaper.
Good luck.

59 and 95th there are 2
Cookie Cutters and Kid Snips
cookie cutters is next to Giordano's
Kid Snips I was told one time I had to wait at least 30 minutes when the store was EMPTY - so they might still be figuring things out - I bounced over to Cookie Cutters that same day and it was buzzing (bad pun) with energy and customers and they took us immediately -

there is a slide (full size outdoor commercial style) in the lobby of Cookie Cutters that my little one just loves - and she raves about the balloons too - as a matter of fact - whenever she see's a balloon she's convinced we're going to get our haircut.

Then on 127th (I think) and 59 is Boozle b's - I haven't been there in a long time - but they are a destination location with all kinds of stuff that is sure to keep your little one occupied as well.

all 3 of them have pedal cars for chairs and movies to keep your little one occupied - the cut will fly by in a matter of seconds with all the visual stimulation these 3 places have!!!

Good luck.

I know that Cookie Cutters will photograph and save a lock of hair from his first cut...

We've been to Cookie Cutters by Dominick's and Kid Snips by new Movie Theater (both are on opposite corners at 95th & Route 59 in Naperville). They are both cute kid's haircut places, but my daughter (now 26 months... but 6 months when she got her first haircut) prefers Kid Snips much better! Good Luck!

Cookie Cutters is great - there's one in downtown Naperville and another at Rt. 59 & 95th by Frank Gironda. They have a "first hair cut" package and the kids get to sit in their choice of a motorcycle, car, etc. My kids love it!

I have 3 young children and they all had their first haircuts at KidSnips in Oak Brook. I know that is a distance from Bolingbrook but they love sitting in the cars and watching a video during the haircut. Afterwards they get a balloon and sucker. Might be worth the trip! Good luck!

Rt 83/63-rd Street /Willowbrook/in the small plaza where is Dominick's, but on the side of 63-rd, next to Caribou Cafe: sorry, not sure for the name of the salon - ask for Jenny. She has three boys on her own, so she is great with little ones :)

Boozle B's is in Plainfield. It's right off of Rt. 59 & 119th. It's in a strip mall with the Buffalo Wild Wings & Kohls. I took my son their once, and they did a good job. Their phone # is: ###-###-####. Or check them out on the web: www.boozlebs.com

Good Luck!

I highly suggest KidSnips. There is one in Oakbrook and another in Wheaton. There may be one closer, just check online. It's best to get an appointment so that the timing would be right for your son's nap schedule, etc.

I took both my kids there for their 1st haircuts. They took a picture of my child, took a lock of hair and put it onto a "First Haircut" certificate. Very cute.

I'm taking my girlfried there on Monday and treating her son to his 1st haircut.

And don't forget to bring your own camera/video recorder.
