Don't go with Hayden. All names that rhyme with "Aiden" are SO popular these days and too overused.

Just throwing some quirky combos out. Ones I wouldn't have had the balls to use myself if my girls had been boys :)

Check out the website baby name wizard. You can plug in certain requirements and it will generate lists of names.

I am partial to David because that's my kiddo's name... but other names we had on the list were:
Ronin
Jake
Eli
Jonah
Quinn

I had a terrible time with boy names! They all seemed too traditional or too weird or too trendy. In the end we chose David because our son was an early baby and we wanted a strong name for him. And also because it was one of the only ones we could agree on :)

don't worry! I didn't have names for a couple of days after I had my kids. You are not alone; and heck, you dont' even have to name the baby to leave the hospital if you don't want to, but its easier if you do.

I like family names and long middle names so I have a

Magdalena (Maggie) Mary Rose -- Maggie was my bff's idea, Mary is my mom, and I love the name Rose
and
Theodore Aiden Fisher -- my great uncle and my favorite uncle were named Theodore, my husband likes Aiden, and my grandma's maiden name was Fisher.

I would look at family names if I were you and see what means something. Sometimes you don't know until you see the baby. I didn't. Maggie was not on my list anywhere until I saw her. Daddy names her Magdalena, I would have just named her Maggie. So, remember its ok to wait and see. But good luck!

I like:

Gabriel
Pierce
Henry (love that one!)
George
Blaine
Reuben
William
Spencer
Isreal
Gordon
Frances
Tom or Thomas
Shelly
Andrew
Adrian
Edward
Ward
Brighton
Lloyd

Hayden? I think as a girl's name and think of Hayden Penniterrie (spelling).

Nolan Michael
Andrew Carson
Andrew Charles

Ryan Alexander

Family names are all good. Especially if you go back to Great Grandfather's - there are a lot of names out there that are just GREAT!!!

If you go to a day care and listen to the names being called in the classroom....or even to an elementary school - you'll hear a lot of "popular" names and your son MIGHT be one of 5 with the same name...with a name like Carson! LOVE IT!! He won't be mixed up with others and you can still find stuff with his name on it a theme parks!! :)

Good luck!

My son Kaden wishes I would have named him Jackson (?)
I LOVE the fist name Edison, but my cousin used it first.
I like to make the middle after a family member. Kaden Charles after his Uncle Justin Charles and HIS uncle Charles.

I am kinda biased on Carson since that is my sons name. He is Carson Allen and i get compliments on his name all the time. He is almost 5 and we have only met 2 other Carson's so its not an overly popular name.

I find for middle names it is nice to use something with meaning, like a family name. My oldest middle name is shared with his father and is also his great grandmothers maiden name, and my youngest middle name is shared by both of his Great grandfathers and many uncles on my side of the family. If there are no names that run in your families you can always just use your maiden name or the name a favorite relative. Since we knew the middle names it made it easier somewhat to find a good first name that fit. We just threw names out there until one felt right.

The mom who posted to avoid "Hayden" is right -- Aidan, Aiden, Jaden, Kaden, Caden and lots of other "den" names are very popular right now and Hayden would get called other stuff constantly, as well as having to spell his name for everyone constantly. Carson is great because it is fine for a young kid but also will sound dignified enough for an adult -- think about how any names will work not just for a child but for a professional man some day. For a middle name Michael is great but the traditional spelling is Michael, not Micheal, which looks like the girls' name "Michelle."
