Just wondering if there is anyone else out there with girls who are turners syndrome. I have a six year old with turners.

What can I do next?

Hi J.,
My name is J. Trujillo I am a mother of 4. Ages are 16,14 12 and 1 years. I don't have a child with turners syndrme but I do know about it I just so happened to have shared a room with a woman with turners syndrome at one of our churches womens advances. She shared her struggle with turners. I also have a friend who has lost 4 babies, but has been blessed with 4 children, both of these women have a big source of strentgh they pull from and that is Jesus Christ although I have not seen the women with turners in a few years I am very good friends with the other who has lost a baby. Why don't you visit my church Wednesday night I know that you'll find what you looking for there and make some friends that can help you through your struggles. My church is Called The Turning Point Church it is off of Philadelphia in the same shopping center as Movies 8. It starts at 6:45pm -8:30pm we have a great childrens ministry.
I hope I can meet you.
J. Trujillo

My sister has Turner's Syndrome and is about to graduate from law school cum laude. She has had to struggle all through life, as her stress levels are higher than "normal" girls. Patience helps, but don't coddle too much. There are higher risks for heart problems too. She's stubborn as a mule (probably more so) but we still love her. It takes a lot of patience because there are many health issues that may or may not arrive. We were fortunate enough to not have too many health issues with my sister. She's had minor surgery on her ureter because she was always getting bladder infections. She had a lot of ear infections as a baby and had her tonsils removed when she was around five. She's one of those rare cases though that don't show many internal symptoms, at least as she's gotten older. She was even accepted into the Navy after high school but didn't complete it because the health officials were giving her too many problems because she is "at higher risk for heart failure". This girl was a varsity tennis player and swimmer, was involved with DECA and FBLA in high school. Turner's is what makes her extra special to us. There was nothing you could have done to prevent it.

My daughter is now 6 years old with Turners - she was born with a swollen foot and no toenails and at 3 months the doctors did blood work and found out she has turners. Other then being in the 5th percentile in height and weight, her heart, kidneys are normal. She has been late in everything, spoon feeding, cup use, starting kindergarten.

Hi J.-

My daughter does not have Turner's syndrom but was misdiagnosed with it while I was pregnant so I probably know a bit more about it than the average mom...lol. Also have a special needs daughter myself and am also in Elk Grove if you ever want to talk. :-)

I don't have a child with Turner's, but I am a school teacher and have worked with many girls with the syndrome, and have done some research on it as part of my graduate degree. I would be happy to talk to you about my observations and some of the many wonderful girls I know that have Turner's.

Just had a pediatric nurse ask me if my daughter had Turners Syndrome, then saw your question. I don't know much about it. Is there anything I should be concerned about, or just check with the Dr. next time. She is very small. (just hit 20 lbs at over 2 years old.) How did you find out about it? Is it a test that would have been done already? Thanks for your help.
