We are planning our son's first birthday party this summer. I am looking for some suggestions for party favors (including good stores in the area that sell such items). We are having approximately 20 kids (aged from newborn to 12 years old).

What can I do next?

I went to a birthday party recently and the favors were adorable! They were books wrapped up with cute name tags for all the kids, and it was great because there were all different aged kids theere so they were all age appropiate. I loved the idea!

Hi M.,

Beach toys are a great summertime favor gift. If you live near a Christmas Tree Shops store, they are cheap!

I have 2 kids, (5 and 2) and they both have b-days in Sept. so we have been able to have 1 party for both kids. 2 years ago we had a big party for my son's 1st b-day and my daughter's 4th. I ordered small cooler/lunch bags on line and had them personalized. They were under $5.00 each. It was great! We had a pinata and I handed those out before and the kids used those to pick up the candy. I forget the website that I ordered them from, but you could search on personlized items or party favors.
good luck!

I have an ebay store where I sell personalized party favors in any theme. I think cookie favors are great for 1st birthdays and I can match any theme you are using and include your son's photo if you want. I can also do personalized coloring books and crayons. Here's the link:

Hi M.,

Congrats! My son will be having his first bday party this summer too. My daughter is turning 5 this summer too. What I did and will do again will be a simple party. If you have quite a few kids in the older age spectrum say 2 and up, you could get some really great party favors for cheap at OrientalTrading.com. I usually get mardi gras beads, some arts and crafts for them to take home and maybe a piece of candy. You get great deals and for that many kids you should be able to get things cheaper in bulk. Well worth looking into.
I'm already making my list of supplies!

We bought a package of playdoh for our son's first birthday. They make birthday packs that come with 50 small contatiners for $10. Even the older kids like a little playdoh.
